  1. We tend to charge our standard wedding fee and as they tend to be in our locality we don't hike expenses or expect a rider. They are very fruitful as they do tend to generate a good number bookings for the coming spring/summer wedding season so its a double whammy.

We all have kids so we don't go out at Christmas unless its silly money and 100% agreed, if anyone is reluctant it doesn't happen, no hassle. NYE is reliant on inflated fee and a big fat alcohol rider, an understanding that the band will be partying is also mandatory. I can't remember the last year I didn't 'work' so it appears to be an acceptable modus operandi.

  2. Its an awesome bass Andy. I coveted the Zoids for quite some time. The Hollywood top on mine is incredible, almost white except for a few natural features and grain, a bit more understated than some of the more elaborate tops.Exquisitely made and plays like a dream. If my need for basses wasnt changing she'd be staying put. Saying that, the way the market is at the moment it may just be worth putting her away or on the wall for a while until things start moving again.

Hopefully the guitar part exchange will make it an easier or more attractive proposition for someone.

    C'mon gasers do your worst.

  3. Thanks For the kind words Kev, theres the breaks with trading but im sure things will sort out soon enough.

There appears to be a good selection of W&T basses on here at the moment which is great for the buyers so I may just hang onto it for a wee while and see how the market moves. I'll give her another week and maybe try one of my other basses.

All the best Kev, GLWTS on the Ashdown. I was seriously hoping youd bond with it but you came up with the same issues as me with its vastness. Such a class amp though.

    Cheers

    Col

Yes, this was exactly what I meant. I love this gorgeous bass but don't currently have the funds. Sorry if I upset anyone!

No upset sir, very early morning misunderstanding!! Apologies

Lust away guys, shes definately a world class instrument. She'll be here for you if your boat comes in.

  5. As Cocco said, go ahead.
Keep the original bits so you can reverse anything your unhappy with. With a new bridge going on just be sure to set it all up properly.
I doubt changing to a Wilkinson bridge will make much difference to your sound, if you were going for a Babicz or Badass then you may get improved sustain but they come at a high cost.

Just go ahead and enjoy, what you learn in the process will always serve you well and theres always loads of info and advice on here.

Perhaps you could start a project thread and show us what your up too.

  6. Ive got one of these combos and find it to be pretty much top notch. If you are having difficulty with poor sound its probably the bass however, make sure you have read the manual and understand the controls as it is far from being a straight forward plug and play unit.

You can model pretty much any amp and add some pretty decent effects. Use the USB to link to the Fender Fuse software and youve got infinite choices.

A lot of fun once its understood.

    Enjoy

  7. Ive had quite a few T birds over the years and loved them. Whilst the abomination of a bridge remains and doesn't appear to changing anytime soon. I simply switched it for the Hipshot Supertone and simply being the operative word, its as easy as changing a string. Not only does it rectify the intonation and tuning issues, it looks great and improves the contact between string and bass. A bit of a faff for a classic design but well worth it when your at full tilt with your foot on the monitor. All hail the most Rock n Roll bass EVER.

    Dingwall moved on.
Neeeded a change - if only for the sake of it. I reckon i will own a Z3 some day and that will be tbe crest of the hill for me. Need a second mortgage though.
W+T is a sexy beast. Specially the zoid.
    Good luck with the sale.

If you do find yourself gassing a lovely Zoid 5 string then drop me a line. I'll do an amazing deal for ya ;-)

  9. Thanks for your comment. Thankfully, Its just the work element of music thats being retired so a basic home set up is all i will need. All i have to do is choose which bass to keep. Ive got a lovely Wood & Tronics 5 that I may well be moving on. Did you keep the Dingwall?
