1. I use an Active Warwick and Passive Fender Jazz. I get over the gap in output by using an EBS Microbass with the Active -10db drop. Works a treat without taking the tone out of the Jazz. Best pedal I bought, it does loads of stuff very well. Not cheap though.

5. Martin Owen fixed my blowtorch and it cost £10, he's a real top guy. Have no qualms, the blowtorch will be fine in his hands. C
6. A true gent who not only sold me a top practice amp at a top price but delivered it in person. Only sorry I didnt have more time to chat. Most certainly as good as it gets in todays marketplace. Cheers Russ Col

10. Ouch.... My jaw just hit the ground. Thats the best bass ive seen on here ever.....WOW
11. May seem a little harsh but after a number of bad experiences by being too hospitable and being given back damaged goods I dont allow anyone to play through my gear. Not even support bands, it doesnt please everyone but I paid too much money for someone else to damage my baby. I dont ask to borrow gear for gigs, ive had to hire amps before now when the rig needs attention but I belive that to be in this game we need to be self sufficient. Its just professional. Clear black and white policy. if they want to sound good enough to get paid then take responsibility for making that possible. just my view on it. C
12. Immediate payment and good comms. Top notch Cheers Dan Enjoy the Auto Q Col
13. Not long bought one of these babies. Bloody AWESOME IMHO. I paid £260 from major german retailer with free postage. Good pricing Av a bump
14. Hey Nick, Dont suppose you missed the OC-3 and fancy a trade for the Punch factory? Cheers Col
15.
Please poke me in the eye if this sounds silly of me , but the controls are vol vol tone as opposed to vol pan tone right?
No eye poking required mate. The controls are Vol Pan Tone. C
16. The piece of string question comes in strongly here. It depends on my disposable cash situation I guess. I paid well over 2.2K for my Warwick (1997) and have never quibbled or toyed with guilt for a second, nor have I ever considered selling her on regardless of how strapped I have been. She has bought so much to my playing & tone the money does not come into the equation. If I won the lottery Id be after designing some Alembics a Carl Thompson would be a must and of course the obigatory vintage Jazz bass or two. All played through a full EBS stack with a roadie on call At the moment the basses I seem to really take interest in and get GASsy over are in the 1500 - 2k mark. Sky is the limit really.
17. I think if Tinman ever put me on here, never mind recycling - he would probably be offering vast amounts of money to anyone daft enough to take me off his hands Looks like we have an auction on our hands guys
18. Ive just had mine for a week and all I can say is WOW. What a total revelation, Im just sooo glad to be in control of my FOH tone. The backstage warm up, practice and Fx blend are awesome. A lot of dosh but a fab item to have in the gigbag. Mines staying put.
19. Just been looking back over old band pics and GOD do I regret some silly sales I made. Mainly a Gibson Thunderbird Custom shop which was a prototype for the 87 reissue and my worst faux pas was to sell my Warwick Buzzard nirvana black bolt on. Whatever happened to the Buzzards......they must be in vaults, under beds or on walls. That was one monster of a bass. Hindsight hurts sometimes
20.
The pick-ups are wired to the centre terminal (slider) so that when the pot is turned right down the output from the pick-up is connected to ground, so there should be no output. If it is not doing this then there will be some unwanted bleed-through.
Thanks, Ive just ordered new pots for the bass, hopefully that will solve the problem. Many thanks C
21.
The wiring looks OK. The white wire from each pick-up should go to the centre tap of their respective volume pots. Could well be a pot problem. You could try checking them with a multimeter. BTW the pots should be audio taper (A) or logarithmic (LOG), not linear.
Thanks for your help mate, much obliged. I'll check out some new pots. Thanks Col
22. Heres a snap of the wiring. Cheers Col
23.
Have the pots been changed or are they original? I think you need linear pots not log types.
Hi Neil, As far as I'm aware they are original pots but I have not long aquired her. A change of pots may be on the cards you reckon? C
