Hello friends I am pleased to announce that my new iPhone / iPad app has just been released on the Apple iTunes app store. Jazz Session Band is the world's first chord-based audio loop app which allows the user to create high quality copyright free music wherever they are and whatever their level of ability. You simply input your own chords from a choice of 10 Jazz chord variations in any key (thats a choice of 120 chords) in any one of 15 popular jazz styles (from ballad, 12/8, various swing tempi, 3/4, bossa, shuffle, fast latin, afro jazz) and watch the chords instantly convert to great sounding audio. The musicians that feature are; Ralph Salmins - drums Tom Cawley - piano Geoff Gascoyne - acoustic bass Andy Panayi - saxophones and flutes Have a look at the youtube movies http://youtu.be/YWvA4TjTI18 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTVCwLAC_v8&feature=em-upload_owner#action=share "This is an extraordinarily useful tool for jazz musicians of any ability, from the very beginner to the gigging professional. It offers an absolutely brilliant way to practice and write. If you are an improvising musician this is quite frankly essential." Jamie Cullum buy it at the iTunes app store now Best wishes Geoff

Hello Bass chatters I have a NS CR5M and I would like to either sell it or swap it for a good acoustic bass guitar, I don't know much about these things so advice would be helpful too. My NS bass is a beautiful 5 string with a heavy duty stand and flight case so is probably worth £1500. I also have an SWR SM900 that I want to get rid of. Best wishes Geoff

I think god is a little strong but thanks for the message, I would like to share some gear thoughts with everyone. Basses My gear has thinned down a lot of late, I sold both Ken Smiths last year but currently I own a sunburst 1964 relic jazz bass, a Marcus Miller 5 string jazz bass, a Dean 5 string acoustic bass guitar and only one German acoustic flatback bass. (I sold my other one last year and have been looking around for a replacement over the last few months). I also have a Yamaha SLB200 Silent bass and an NS CR 5 string upright. Strings Now that I am more focussing on jazz (i.e. no more pop work) I have been playing a new brand of acoustic Pirastro gut strings, the Corda Carlos Henriquez special edition, they are smaller gauge and more playable and sound like those old school players (Paul Chambers, Charlie Haden etc) I love them. Amps I own 3 SWRs, Baby Blue and Workingman combos and an SM900 head (which I am gonna sell) and I have a Gallien Krueger combo. Better go now but speak soon Best wishes Geoff

I am selling my beloved Ken Smith 5 string bass, bought from Ken himself in NYC in 1990, it is Japanese blonde maple back and front with full through neck. It has some small repaired damage to the neck but in excellent condition. It has been loved for years. DHL delivery is around £75 and I live in South London if you want to see it. Any sensible offers? contact geoff 07956 283900 [attachment=61744:PICT0119.JPG] [attachment=61745:PICT0120.JPG] [attachment=61746:PICT0122.JPG] [attachment=61747:PICT0129.JPG] [attachment=61748:PICT0118.JPG] [attachment=61749:PICT0124.JPG]
