1.
For me, memorable means once you hear the bass-line, you know the song. Eton Rifles, Billie Jean, Peaches, Another One Bites The Dust are great examples of this.
Agree, the Boomtown Rats song Rat Trap has a great bassline. I wish I could come with something like that linking G and E minor. Simple, effective and memorable.
2. Mitcham golf club, I cant remember what we were playing though, probably Mustang Sally!!
3. Is that studio 3 (The one upstairs?) or the newer penthouse studio? Agree with Kiwi about the catering, had a nice meal in the crossing restaurant.
4. I use Stuart from Peter Cooks in Hanwell. He looks after all my guitars, acoustic, electric and basses. I had to have the nut re cut and the frets stoned on my old P bass recently, otherwise I do it myself. I think he charges 40 quid for a setup.

6.
PM's style was laid down in the 50's listening to rock and roll. There was only a brief crossover between The Beatles recording their major creative works and JJ entering his creative period, so that introduction seems like wishful thinking on McCartney's part. Bass players who are singers, inventive song writers and piano players will usually have a much better melodic sense than plain old bass players. If you want to emulate McCartney get a piano.
Indeed, have a listen to Lady Madonna, Macca really swings that boogie woogie piano.
7. I understand the respect for Jaco on here. However, I have tried to listen to his playing objectively, but its just not my thing, just a bundle of notes really.
8. Have a look on youtube for Scotts Bass Lessons. He,s da man!!

11. Buyer collects? At that price I would want it delivered to my front door personally by the sexy one out of the bangles starkers!
12. I doubt if they would have one large enough to cover my large lower chest!
13. Pink Floyd - Money (If you dont count the ringing till sound effects which technically is not a musical instrument anyways!)
14. I backed him up because I agree with his post.
15. Hooray for Fender! I have always played a P bass for 30 years. I have tried Stingrays and even Fenders own Jazz bass but they are not for me. I will stick to my Precisions.
16. Has anyone been to this? Its at the o2 arena. I had a look at the website, looks like a bit of musical history heaven. http://www.britishmusicexperience.com/

20. Yes, I get these from time to time, a complete mind blank in mid song. I,m sure the mics have picked up my "Oh sod it!" on many occasions.
21. I change my strings every 3 months whether they need changing or not. I use EB Super Slinkies which are quiet reasonably priced.
22. Basschat was recommended to me by one of the guys at the Bass Centre in London Bridge when I was looking to sell a Fender P.
