1. I remember Wilco being interviewed on it, demonstrating how he played both lead and rhythm at the same time. Oh! and Deidre Cartwrights green boiler suit!
2. I love his quote on the Farewell one Melbourne show where he says "Have you ever had a favourite thing you liked to do and had to stop? - My favourite thing was drinking alcohol. I only got drunk once for twenty years!"
3.
Heh heh heh! But seriously folks... IMO playing bass well requires a greater level of musicality than for guitar, so the guy didn't so much insult you as show up his own ignorance! Did you get the gig?
They emailed and offered me the job, but I politely declined.
4. 55 replies!, what a pity we cannot show such a response to non celeb newbies
5. I answered an ad for a bass player and went along to audition. There was a few numbers for me to learn including some Lenny Kravitz and Foo Fighters stuff. I noticed the guitarist was playing the wrong chords in one song and I made the mistake of correcting him telling him it was E minor not major he needed to play. After the end they said to me "Well done! you really know your stuff, - why are you only playing the bass?" ....................Speechless!.............................
6. Another vote for Bruce Foxton. Especially the Setting Sons and Sound Affects albums. Which gives me the opportunity to post this rarely seen clip of Private Hell live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cF9XbtPo-e8
7.
She Said She Said is my favourite so far, Eleanor Rigby is very nice, heard that before of course. I'm surprised how decent Harrison is on sitar, he does a pretty good job. McCartney plays nice lines. I've seen him live in the '80s and I was impressed by his solo stuff. So far only one song has moved me on this, She Said She Said, it's got nice harmony and melody that resonates with me.
Have a look a this fella playing drums to She Said She Said, Ringo is really a great drummer and this chap nails it spot on!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYEdUQdMGG0
8. The song Yellow Submarine was recorded in 1966, MMT was recorded in 1967. They are both separate projects
9. Give Revolver a spin (Geddit?) It marks the transition from the disposable pop of the early days to the search for a different sound.
10. I recently got a Fender Rumble which is quiet powerful at 350 watts out of 2 x 10s, and at 29kgs on casters its not the heaviest amp around.

13.
Blimey that's a beautiful YOB bass for me right there
And me!!
14. The seller seems to be convinced thats what it is! Seeing as he deals in lots of old tat, he may not know a bass guitar from a baseball

20. That looks so flimsy, it could break fast!
21. Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders did a terrible version of Help! - but I think it was for comic relief so it probably doesnt count.
