1. It is not really well known that George Harrison was quite good on the bass himself. Take a listen to 'She Said, She Said, Maxwells Silver Hammer and Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight are a few examples of Georges bass prowess, Unlike John Lennons awful cock ups on The Long & Winding Road which makes me cringe when I hear it!!
2. My 2011 American Standard P bass. I have owned a few American guitars in the past, but this one is my favourite.
3. Played in a local club this evening, picked up the P bass and plugged in. Began the first number and CLANG!! guitar and strap parted company and gravity won. Still, I dont think it done any damage to the guitar
4.
Rain is my favourite, the drums are ace on that too
I first heard that as a teenager in the early 80,s when I first picked up the bass, I had never heard the bass played so high up the neck before! It was my first experience of Macca as a bassist and not just a vocalist.
5. The whole of the Sgt Pepper album is bass heaven for me, especially The Benefit Of Mr Kite!
6.
Under Pressure by Queen. Basically a two note riff, but a complex rhythmic feel.
Should read:

8. Stranger from another planet, welcome to our hole! - Just strap on your P Bass and we,ll play some rock and roll!!
9. Be advised though, that the Bass Gallery has a very imposing steel shutter pulled down over the front window, and you cant get in the door unless you press the security buzzer.
10. Wunjos in Denmark Street has been much recommended on here recently, as is the bass gallery. The gallery is a bit out of central London, in Camden. http://wunjoguitars.com/ http://www.thebassgallery.com/
11.
I polished the fret wires so they gleam and give non scrapey bends, and bees wax oiled the fret-board.
Cant argue with that can you? 12. I use one of these, and find its well loud enough for most of the gigs I do. There is a line out if you want to run through the PA, and the 15" speaker gives a really nice punch. 13.
I'm so glad you said that, I've got some SD SPB1's coming for my Korean Squier. And a new wiring loom care of KiOgon. 14. I,m still waiting to see if I have a gig on Saturday night. So will probably end up paying full price nearer the time. I dont really want to go on Sunday as I have a 24 hour flight that evening!
15. I have an old Korean Squier with a lovely neck and a nice sunburst body. I put in a Seymour Duncan SPB1 pickup and it sounds great! People often comment on the sound of the bass after gigs.
16. The headstock from my old 1977 P bass. Here the changes are obvious.
17. Good lord! that is the sort of thing you would expect to see if MDP was let loose with a spray gun!!
18. AKG D5. Its what I use, and has a nice warm deep sound.
19. I usually used Ernie Ball - Super Slinkys on my P Bass, but I was given a pack of their coated slinkys and am currently using them. I actually quite like them, although they are quite pricey they last a long time.
20.
1,348 Posts in just a year??!! Blimey - and I thought silddx could talk!!
And Bluejay never posts in Off Topic either!
21. Basically, thats it! Does your other half think you have enough bass guitars? Do they moan when yet another one turns up? Are you secretly hiding them away so they cant complain? If the answer is yes, you are suffering from GAS blockage.
22.
Isnt "Goodbye Toulouse" in 2 different time signatures.
4/4 and 6/8 time?
23. IIRC the bass solo was reversed, so well done for pulling it off!!
24.
or just stick it up on the wall and look at it!
Which it is really only fit for.
25.
I tried building a kit once. I could never get the flashing light on the bonnet to work though, and it kept calling me Michael.
