1.
I buy Gould Gothic guitars brand new from Chase for £90 and after my work I sell them for £160... which they easily deserve.
2. I would be very suspicious of buying anything from someone who has just registered as a member, without even an introduction. All the things I have bought on here have been from established members who have built up a reputation. Just my 2 cents worth.
3. I was told my BP was too high and to lose some weight. The doc said only 30 mins exercise a day, no need to go mad, and I have lost a stone in a month without puffing and wheezing in the gym.
4. I haven't tried these, but I have tried the E B coated super Slinkies. I put the on the MIM Precision I got from Lojo, and am very impressed. I can see what you mean about the feel of the strings to the touch, but I actually prefer it! Still, horses for courses.
5. Well, I have to agree with Lonnie Donegan, My chewing gum definitely DID lose its flavour on the bedpost overnight!!
6. Just me and you blue-jay? Will check out Jump 66 and Alistair James. Weathers looking good, should be a good day out.
7. Update - Well, I have had these on my Fender P for a coupla weeks now and am very impressed Obviously not had these on nearly long enough to comment on their longevity but nice and easy on the fingers and a nice full tone, and very easy to play finger-style, 8 to the bar.
8. The weathers looking good for the weekend, and even better for the upcoming week! Plus I am not gigging this weekend and Mrs Hobbayne's parents are down for the day, so what better excuse to get out of the house.
9. I take it the body has been stripped back to the bare wood?
10. No one going to this then? Oh good! more beer for me then!!
11. I have an old Squier P bass that I have tarted up with a tort guard and some chrome covers. I like it, it looks almost pukka at quick glance!
12. Theres a programme on the BBC Iplayer about the late Roy Orbison that had had me singing along earlier!
13. I haven't got a clue what it is, but can I have a strap anyway?
14. Oh well, I guess we wont be seeing him again!
15. http://www.ealing-club.com/the-ealing-blues-festival-2012/ Anybody going? The singer in my covers band has a little jump jive band that are on at 2pm. I'll be in the beer tent wearing a basschat T shirt and probably wobbling a little bit!!
16. I had a rehearsal on Monday evening and forgot my pick in my rush to leave the house. I was a bit worried that I would not be able to play the fast one-ee-and-a-two-ee straight eights in AC DC's Overdose, with my fingers, but actually it was quite easy to do, and sounded much fuller too!
17. Hold your bass up and look beneath the strings. If any of them are touching the frets, raise the strings that touch the frets. Adjust string height by raising the height at the bridge with a hex wrench or standard screwdrivers.
18. Thin Lizzy's version of Rosalie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSo9CC2wKVI
19. No. If I,m sitting down, its right up under my chin almost! Standing, it covers the ...er.... groinal area.
20. For general shitholes, I use a Warwick Sweet 150w combo that I got off of ebay for £150. Its plenty loud enough. So we now have two votes in the under £250 option.
21. I have an old korean Squier P bass with a really nice neck that I picked up for £150. I fitted some Seymour Duncan SPB1,s to beef up the sound, but its still only worth about £200. Sounds the dogs nazz though!
22.
and, though I can't think of his name, the bass player in Bob Marley's Wailers.
Aston Family Man Barrett
23. Its 6th Jan, the Americans have month-date-year, we have date-month-year.
