  1. My band used to do a cover of 'Aint No Fun Waiting Round To be A Millionaire' by AC/DC which is really 6 miniutes of a D root note playing 8th notes. I made it a bit more interesting by dropping to the F# and running up to the A by a chromatic scale. Made it a bit more bearable for me.
  2. Ticket ordered for Saturday although I must say I,m not a fan of those 'Print out your own ticket' affairs, I'll have to go and buy some ink for the printer now!!
  3. Still available - bump
  4. Fnarr! Fnarr!
  5. Edited for price drop!!
  6. A combo has the amplifier and speaker built in together in one unit. The MB 15 is a combo. Valve amps are expensive and heavy, but have a much warmer sound than transister amps like the mb15. Gain is another word for volume.
  7. Open to offers Fender gig bag can be included for a tenner!

  14. Sounds great! Post on here when you get your first gig, Dont know where you are in Bucks, but Denham is only 15 mins up the A 40 from here. I,ve been rehearsing with a new band since October and have currently got 13 songs in the bag and a singer audtioning on monday. Toss up to use the Precision or the Stingray for me!
  15. I assume its a powerful picked bass on bright rounds a la Bruce Foxton, JJ Burnel or Phil Lynott. My personal syle of bass playing to be honest!

    No smileys?

Where are the smileys gone when posting on my iPad? Or am I doing something wrong here?
  20. I use my right thumb to anchor, usually on the pickup, and the index and middle fingers to pluck the strings. The other two fingers I just let hang loose or tuck them into my palm. I'm afraid I'm not very disciplined with right hand technique
  21. I dont see why not? I play all rock numbers with a pick, it gives you more volume. I still play fingerstyle for ballads, reggae etc.
  22. How much you reckon it weighs? I had a 77 P bass that tipped the scales at 10lbs.
  23. Unless you have a Stingray
