2. If the drummer is good, then he will give you the courage to groove, and also give you an idea of what to play (Unless of course they tell you to play what they want!)
3. I lent my VM Jazz to an old friend of mine who has been playing bass since the early 60's. He couldnt believe that it was a budget instrument! He told me that back in those early days the basses that they used to play where virtualy unplayable, unless you could afford a real Fender, yet the quality of a cheap modern day Indonesian made basswood guitar blew him away!!
4. Some Elites nickel rounds on the Stingray, Labella FS on the VMJ and some other rounds (Possibly D'addarios) on my Precision. 3 basses with 3 different sounds for any gig and any request (Including Moondance)
5. It looks like most ebayers are aware that its not pukka - only £141 with an hour to go?
6. The first thing would be to learn all the notes on the fretboard.
7. I used a Warwick Sweet 15.2 combo last night for the first time, I bought it used from a dealer on ebay a few weeks ago, but apart from a quick test in my living room, this is the first time it was gigged. I noticed quiet a loud crackle from it which was also heard by the other band members. It was only present when the bass was playing, as soon as I stopped then the crackle stopped. I did try another lead but it didnt help. This was an intermittant fault it didnt happen all the time. Any ideas what it could be??

9. Bass as in Charrington Bass for the pre 1980,s generation!

11. Wasnt there talk about a minimum number of posts on here before being allowed to sell? Having said that, I bought two basses on here from members who seldem post anything on here

13. 120-50 is quiet a heavy gauge, are they that pricey then?
14. Somebody on here hit the nail on the head when they were discussing another OTT relicing job similar to that monstrosity, when they said it looks like its been tied to the back of a transit van and bounced down the M1 for 100 miles!
15. Just high enough to balance on my beergut!
16. Unless you happen to be Dee Dee of course!

Cheers guys, it was nice to hear that familar Precision sound again - even it is only a Squier athough I must confess I,m not a fan off those dome topped control knobs!

I picked up this 12 year old Squire P Bass from ebay for only £150. Its based on a '60's Precision with bridge cover, tugbar with tort pickguard and what seems to be the now obligatory "fake" Fender headstock logo. Just needed a tweak of the truss and a new set of Elite players and it sings like a bird!!

22. Quite difficult I believe, the late great George Harrison had one back in the 60's but he didnt know how to play it, so he tuned it like a guitar and played it on Norwegian Wood. He later had lessons from Ravi Shankar and became quite proficient on it!
23. I wonder if they supply the hacksaw to cut out the headstock shape?
24. Well, thats me sorted for those long rainy days in my caravan in Skegness!! Clicky
