I didnt realise that this problem existed before I bought my Stingray Although mine is a1996 model not a pre EB. After last nights G string drop in volume I thought it was just me!
Strangely enough other gigs I have played and never had this problem till last night!
hmmmm..sounds dodgy. Who would cancel by text anyway...??
not sure I would want to be notified of such a thing like that.
We suspect (although have no proof) that it was our former guitarist who was fired last year!!
Strange one last night! Played a new club (for us) in High Wycombe. When we got there, they had a sign up saying "sorry no live music tonight due to band illness!!" We spoke to the promoter who showed us a text message he had recieved from someone alledging they were from our band saying we had to cancel as one of of us is ill!
No body has any idea who sent it!!
On another note, I struggled with the sound of the Ray, as the G string was inaudible! no amount of EQ twiddling could sort it out.
I,m a much better rythym guitarist than a lead guitarist due to my stubby fingers But I can pretty much play any chord if asked (except G#+) when I tried to play The Beatles - Something middle 8
Gangsters - The Specials, a really easy one for a change! Thanks Sir Horace!
Quote - Blue Letter - Fleetwood Mac.
What albums that on then? - Tusk?
Good question! I cant remember anything twangy on the bass on records before 1976.
Thin Lizzy and The Stranglers/Jam 1977? but 1975 and before I have no recollection of the twang

What actually is a "Stagg double bass pedal"?
Double bass drum foot pedal for drummers (ie two bass drums need two pedals)
Are these vids supposed to be educational I dont think so.
IMHO they are tongue-in-cheek spoofs, a bit like Spinal Tap. I dont think theyre meant to be taken seriously.
Often need to play an open string as I reach for my pint!!

Tomb. I reckon you should calm down a little. Excitement and everything that goes with an incoming NBD, we all get it. But if you get worked up over everything that doesn't go to exactly to plan you'll be in the rubber room and the funny jacket in no time.
All couriers can be crap. I've had dealings with practically them all where I live and can't think of one that goes beyond local deliveries that hasn't caused trouble at some time or another. If you stopped using every company that uses a courier that has caused problems you'll find that you'll just be using your local store and picking up the gear yourself.
