Very nice! I,ve just got my first Stingray as well, always fancied one but never got round to it. Although mine is a 2eq 1996 model.

Reminds me of Parcel Farce who called to deliver a guitar while I was at work, and on getting no reply simply chucked it over my back garden fence!
Looking for trades at all? I'd love a stingray, but got no money for one, and I doubt I can afford to spring for this either...But I've got a couple of basses I'd be happy to trade for it. 5/6 string interest you at all?
Thanks for the offer, but I,m looking to downsize my collection (and pay my car tax for another year)

For sale is this beautiful OLP Stingray copy in butterscotch with fake tort pickguard and maple board. In Ex condition save for a slight ding on the headstock and body, these are not really all that noticeable. It comes with Rotosound Jazz flats. All set up low action. Probbly basswood body but I havent a clue what it is, someone may know on here.

Played a Jazz last night for the first time, (well a VM Squier), and was surprised at the sound After playing a P Bass for umpteen years it was So different from the sound i used to get. Lovely deep bass for the reggae and middley/toppy sounds for the rock stuff, and a really different feel of the neck, very fast, had to stop over shooting my target notes! I,m looking forward to playing again next week

Theres a bum note, well chord played by Sir Macca on piano on Let It Be, Have a close listen after the guitar solo, under the word "mother" Macca plays a wrong chord. Sticks out like a sore thumb to me

This is the first Stingray I have ever owned, I,ve been playing bass for CENSORED years, always fancied one but never owned one, having been a P Bass player. Bought from a Basschatter last month.
Parcel farce lied and said id twice not been in when they called, even though my package was delivered to my parents house who are pensioners and never go out and a dog that barks the house down if the gate so much as squeeks. They then said it'd been sent back down south to their depot, instead of leaving it in the north west. I dont belive that my parcel even came near my home town. They could have also left it with either neighbours if it needed a signature. I firmly belive that if a driver only has a few parcels left and its getting near days end, that they just drive on straight home and fiddle the paperwork. Why the bosses dont just check the tachograph i'll never know. Or maybe i do know. They dont want bad stuff happening on their watch, so they just back the drivers who seem to be about 50% lying scumbags.
They didnt even bother to ask my neighbours they just chucked this over my back garden fence last Friday when I was at work!! Lucky Haimesy double boxed it.

What are their delivery times like? I know they are based in Germany. I ordered a gig bag last monday and got an email on tuesday saying it had been dispatched and would estimate 3 or 4 days delivery. Just wondering when to expect it.
Ah well, that will be another profesional bass player who is a member of basschat who will not bother us again. Really, is there any need for this level of abuse? Jez
I wish I hadnt started this thread now

I sing about a dozen numbers in my band and seem to get by reasonably well, although I have to cut back on the basslines a bit. A simple root fifth or root third fith can get me by if the band is really tight. I used to try and play the original bassline but that was impossible. I have a DVD by The Eagles where Timothy B Scmidt sings some of his numbers and plays a nice simple line, so I suppose I,m in good company.
Get back
Yes I agree with that, Lord Macca was a never a root note plodder, still, I suppose it fits the song. Check out the B side Dont Let Me Down for some Macca bass vertuosity!
