  1. My Mother In Law was chatted up by Dave Davies when they played in Kenton in the 60's. Apparently his advances were spurned. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  2. Wasn't The Fun Boy Three the same lineup as the current incarnation?
  3. Not a sequencer, but Nigel Harrison puts in a lovely little fill at 3:26. If that were me I would probably overdo it and spoil the the song. Just goes to show that to many fills or little bits chucked in can be a bit too much.
  4. No its just a very, very expensive American Vintage re-issue 1962 Jazz Bass from 1988. ๐Ÿ‘
  5. We Play Come Together and I sing it. But I have to play the riff on the 10th fret while I,m singing to simplify it. It really needs that slide from the D up to the G to make that bassline accurate, but no one cares. ๐Ÿ˜‹
  6. Go and stand in the corner!! ๐Ÿ˜ก
  7. We had better start being nice to some of our significant others on here. Ray Stiles the ex Mud bassists ex turned up on here recently and what a mood she was in!! ๐Ÿ˜‚
  8. Yes. I only live down the road and frequently imbibe in the curry house opposite. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  9. The Granada Cinema. The Rolling Stones performed on the stage in 1964, and part of their EP โ€˜Got Live if you Want Itโ€™ was recorded there.
  10. Yes. Everyones seen my Limelight NBD thread. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  11. I surreptitiously bought a Nate Mendel p bass a few years back. When the wife saw it she was convinced I 'd had it for years. Sometimes a little bit of relicing can be a good thing in persuading the wife its not brand new 'Look at the state of it' she quoth. ๐Ÿ˜‹
  12. ....And folks avatars have been pilfered. ๐Ÿ˜
  13. Wow cool. ๐Ÿ‘ Matching headstock?
  14. Yes.If you look at all the Limelights on his website they are nearly all tarnished to some degree. You can try and ask him to leave it alone, but replicating old and vintage guitars is what he does. Including simulated wear. He quoted me 12 weeks for this one, but as he was waiting for parts for other builds he did mine and finished it ahead of schedule. Well done on oredering your Limelight, what did you go for?
  15. Look what rattled through my letterbox this morning. A limelight replica Fender Precision 1963 in Sonic Blue. ๐Ÿ˜Š Here are the specs: Faded Sonic Blue Hand rolled finger board Clay dots Light relic Rosewood P width neck Mint Green scratchplate Period correct 1960โ€™s Fender Precision logo Thumb rest below strings. All metal work just lightly tarnished Reverse Gotoh Tuners Strap button on reverse of headstock Roundwound strings When Mark first sent me the finished pictures I was a bit disappointed that the scratchplate seemed more white than a faded-to-green colour. However, This was just a result of the camera flash probably. It looks amazing. I dont know what strings he put on. They look like Rotos but I dont like them so they will be coming off and replaced with D'Addarios. Seems to be quite well set up out of the box so theres a nice surprise.
  16. On the other hand, that dreadful song 'I get Knocked Down But I get Up Again' was absolutely huge in the States.
  17. Good article about it here. https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/classic-tracks-cliff-richard-move-it
  18. Well, I asked Mark to put a period correct (1963) logo on it. Theu usually come with a LImelight logo. Its basically a replica, but it has the limelight serial number on the back of the headstock. It would however, be illegal for me to sell this as a genuine Fender.
  19. No. FM formed in 1967. 5 years after The beatles debut single Love Me Do. Which apparently got to #17 in the charts after Brian Epstein bought 400 boxes of it.
  20. My Precision was ยฃ956 plus ยฃ20 P&P
  21. Here are some more pics of my lovely Limelight No. 00230 ๐Ÿ˜Š
  22. I was quoted 12 weeks but due to two or three builds awaiting various parts etc, mine jumped the queue. Apologies to anyone waiting for their limelight builds. ๐Ÿ˜Š
