No I dont think so. I read somewhere that the bass on WALHFMF was recorded on its own track to allow for greater dexterity in the mix.

The bass work and sound on A Day In The Life nearly caused me to soil myself when I first heard it. However, by the time he got to Something, it sounded to me like he was just showing off.

There were some early Squiers that were marketed as a premium guitar. I believe they were badged as Squire 'Silver Series' and were made in Japan. I had a S S Precision circa 1989/90 and it was terrible. The neck pocket was way too big and the neck creaked when I tried to tighten it. These were the precursers to the Classic Vibe models.

I picked up a Yamaha BB 5 string on here back in the summer. I wanted to try it out on our set to see how it sounded. We mainly play classic rock covers which were all originally done on a 4, so the low B doesn't get a lot of use. In fact, I have recently gone back to a P Bass again.

And Boy George too.

John Lennon used some odd timings in some of his songs. Dont Let Me Down has a 5/4 for half a verse into a 4/4, And Good Morning, Good Morning is all over the place with some beauties including 5/4, 3/4 and 4/4. Good luck trying to dance to it! 😂

I think it was Pretty Green by The Jam. Quite a simple one note bassline, but I managed to nail the timing and the feel without too much fret buzz.
