  2. I do agree about They Shall Not Grow Old. He worked wonders with that 100 year old grainy WW1 footage. It will sell though. Anything Beatles related usually sells.
  3. Following the arrival of Jackson’s new film, a restored version of Lindsay-Hogg’s Let It Be will also be released. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/peter-jackson-beatles-movie-let-it-be-786380/
  4. Dorian Mode. 👍
  5. True dat. 😋 Weller started out as Pete Townsend and morphed into Steve Marriott shortly thereafter. 😊
  6. Skiffle did that 20 years before punk came along. 'Oh! Where's me washboard!' 🤣
  7. We do this one. We dont actually bother with that bit, we just start it off with the drums on their own. We thought it was a bit naff anyway. 💩
  8. I took a big gouge out of my brand new Mexican Standard P Bass on its first ever gig. 😢 It was a lovely sparkly Lake Placid Blue. Luckily enough, it was just behind the forearm cutaway so its not immediatly visible to anyone who cares.
  9. You cant beat Space 1999 for some classic 70's Wackacha' pedal. No idea who the bassist was. Carol Kaye done some TV themes.
  10. Ah sorry. I've only just woken up. 😴
  11. So did the notorious Antipodean kiddie fiddler who's name we cant mention.
  12. Angel Eyes - Abba Angel Eyes - Roxy Music
  13. Heard anything back yet? 😋
  14. We are going to cover A Kind Of Magic in my band. I never really gave it much of a listen before we gave it a run through. I just assumed it was just that A - A - A - F# - E - F# riff was the bulk of the song. However, JD throws in a lot of fills and runs which I never picked up on before. Got it down to a tee now. 😋
  15. No. We do the 7" version. 😋
  16. We finish our set with Rappers Delight, Sugarhill Gang. Our singer knows it off by heart. 😂
  17. I never used to sing. In fact I couldn't sing a note until a joined a function band 20 odd years ago. They let me sing backing but I wasn't all that confident and stood back from the mike. Every gig I kept plugging away and got a lot better. Fast forward 20 years and now I am a better singer and sometimes get the lead vocals on a few numbers (Although I have to simplify the bass part) It just goes to show what you can do if you keep on at it.
  18. More on here. https://www.pprune.org/jet-blast/478937-hit-records-bum-notes-out-tune-instruments.html
  19. Bought a pair of vox bass headphones from Neil. Very well packed and good comms Will recommend.
  20. Yes, there is a thread on that here.
  21. Battle scarred 65 p. Tugbar and chrome knobs MIA 😊
  22. Yes. Apparently, he was fooling around on the bass at a session when the producer said 'Thats brilliant! Can you do it again?' And so one of the greatest bass intros was born! 👍
  23. I would rather go out and play rather than sit at home because I dont like to play the songs that the audience likes.
  24. I am sick and tired of trotting out Sweet Home and Alright Now week after week. We tried substituting another Skynyrd number and Free song instead. But had to bring them back because audiences kept shouting for them. I suppose a landlord would prefer to see everyone singing along and enjoying themselves, and you would more than likely get re booked.
  25. I think the remastered white album sounds much better. Although the drums in Gently Weeps are buried deeper in the mix than before. Still, hey ho! 👍
