  1. This Yammy BB 5 string I bought from Chunky Monkey back in the summer. I,m not really a 5 string player but I took it to a gig and my band loved it.
  2. Paul Mc Cartneys Ram album on vinyl. I discovered it while clearing out the loft and gave it a spin. Its quite well known for the songs on it that take a pop at Lennon.
  3. Hmmm. Here are two different bass tones which I love. John McVie - You Make Loving Fun. Warm round tone. Bruce Foxton - Mr Clean. Rough and trebely and high in the mix.
  4. I love the first albums up to and including Document. They went a bit too commercial after that. Murmur always gets played in my house, even today.
  5. Once she's done that song, everyone will bugger off home. 🤣
  6. Mick Fleetwood used the logistics excuse when he sacked Lindsey Buckingham. Seems to be the excuse of the moment.
  7. This one has two bassists and the guitar player is even playing the bassline on a Les Paul! 😂
  8. Been revisiting this album from my early teens. I loved Mark Bedfords bass playing on this and its predecessor, One Step Beyond. But 38 years later, the amount of treble and fret noise has rattled my cage in my old age. Sounds like flats with the top cranked up. I would probably mixed it with more low end. Still, A great album. 👍
  9. I always do it as I,m forever stepping on my lead. I always wrap the other end round the speaker handle too, just as a precaution.
  10. Let us know how you got on. 👍
  11. And me, and I play in a classic rock covers band. Its loud enough on its own but a monster with the NY 121 ext cab.
  12. I play both. A Yammie BB 5 and a Fender P. However, the weight of the 5 plays havoc with my shoulder. So I try to mix and match with the correct song that I can do on a 4, so my shoulder gets a break.
  13. You would probably be better off starting a new thread. The title of this thread is rather uncomplimentary. 😊
  14. I always fancied a Stingray, I just loved the look of them. I got one and could not get a sound I liked out it. It had that classic stingray sound in buckets, but I could not get a nice P Bass thump, so I moved it on. I sold it to Lojo (RIP) I believe he sold it soon after.
  15. I hated Enter Sandman with a vengeance, until I was out voted by the other members of the band to cover it. Now, I dont mind playing it. The devils interval. 😊
  16. Its 88 and a half beer tokens. 🍺
  17. This is the new 2018 mix of While My Guitar Gently weeps. I must say, Eric Claptons lead guitar overdub sounds much more clearer. While for the first time in many years, Maccas double stops on the bass (6string?) finally are audible. Opinions from Beatles fans?
  18. My 2014 Ford Fiesta is exempt. Mind you, We dont play any places in central London.
  19. They moved from Wapping to London Bridge where they mainly did it all online. I went there once after they moved, and they told me that guys would come in the shop, try out a bass and get it cheaper online.
  20. I would say discipline. Cliff Williams fom AC/DC is known for his simple 8th note power basslines. Many people (Myself included) tend to get bored and start embellishing and overplaying when they dont need to. It takes discipline to play whats needed without over doing it.
