  1. I quit my band of 10 years shortly after the lead guitarist and singer had a massive row n the car park before a gig and Mr Lead quit and went home. The singer had no idea how to operate the PA as the lead guitarist always looked after it. The gig was a total disaster as expected. The singer/rhythm guitarist couldnt even tune his guitar, Mr Lead always did it for him. The drummer was useless and often had no clue that the song had even ended! Made my mind up when I got home that night.
  2. Careful what you say chaps. He is a member on here. 😎
  3. I got into my current band through JMB. Prior to that, mainly networking. People would ring me saying that such and such gave them my number as they were looking for a bass player. I have never really tried too hard to find a band, they usually find me. 😀
  4. Yes, thats probably it! He even had me fooled for a minute! 🤣
  5. John Falstrom thinks so. I think he may have a point. I always play slightly differently on my LPB MIM with the maple than my Olly white USA with the rosewood board. I never really though about it before. About 5:50 in the video.
  6. A Satellite short scale bought in the summer of 1982. I stuck adhesive paper on the frets to mark out what the notes were. It was terrible. Progressed from there to a Westone Thunder 1 from my mates mum's Littlewoods catalogue, And from there to an original 1984 Squire 57 JV Precision.
  7. We do the radio friendly version of Creep with the "So Very Special" lyric
  8. I only have 4. A USA Fender Precision which I bought new about 6 years ago which lives in its case and rarely comes out. A Stingray SUB Two more Precisions, a Mexican Standard and a bitsa which I fitted with Rotosound Tru Bass Black nylons and Seymour Duncan SPB1 pick ups for a vintage old school tone. Oh, and two acoustic 6 string guitars.
  9. I always gassed for a Stingray purely on their looks. I did own a 1996 2 EQ version 7 or 8 years back but I could not get a sound I liked out of it. I sold on here to Lojo. So I went back to my trusted Precisions.
  10. The neck on my MIM P was like a banana the other day. After a bit of a tweak its now OK again, but I have moved my guitars from the upstairs storage room to the slightly cooler living room. Mrs Hobbayne is none too pleased. 😂
  11. I know you can EQ a certain amount of top back into a dying string. Once its dead its better to change them. Thats what I,m trying to say. Sorry fretmeister.
  12. I bow to your superior knowledge. 😑
  13. In this day and age with modern EQ I find that you can bypass the dullness by tweaking the thing. This has helped for me and I dont buy new strings that often, and I do sweat quite a bit in a hot pub. But, however, as stated above, all you can really do is replace them if they are well and truly knackered.
  14. Were these the ones with a slot in the front? rather than a speaker grill?

Martin bought my Behringer overdrive pedal. Quick payer, and a jolly nice bloke to boot. 👍
  16. Now down to £200.00. I can post this, but courier must be arranged at your end. 😎
  17. Fleetwood Mac - Tusk After the polished production of Rumours, this resembles a collection of half arsed demos.
