Have you thought about the Amphones? You can detach the quarter inch jack and use them as regular headphones as well.

I used to look like this in 1987. Funnily enough, the bass looks exactly the same as it did back then but I,m 3 stone heavier and no longer have the one chin.
The Affinity's are cheap like the budgie. Cheap hardware, pickups etc. You get what you pay for. They are OK for beginners but I would spend the extra on the VM rather than an entry level bass.
The VM's have a good rep and are well built with better quality parts.
