1.
i know this is an old thread, but i came across it after a search and have read this from start to finish, followed all the links and even visited the ebay shop . i can honestly say that i have not laughed so much in ages. a big belated thank you to all the posters who have ensured that for tonight i will go to bed sniggering.
I love a good old laugh. Disclaimer: To ensure there is no confusion, these comments do not relate to anything referred to or pictured on this thread.

3. I wonder how much the ebay fees would be for a nine grand buy it now?
4.
You could swap out the bridge for a standard fender bbot that would give you a bit more play unless I have read it wrong lol
Yes, that is another option I,m thinking of.
5. Cheers for that. I was just gonna use an old piece of card but I will check those out.
6. I cant get the saddles on my Nate Mendel P Bass any lower. Its not a Badass bridge, (I think they were only fitted to the early models) but a Fender type. I cant get the truss rod set and the action set together. Would a shim be my best bet??
7. Disgusting to read in the "Musicians Available" section that people are having to put in their advert that they are not white! "Coloured Singer looking for a band" etc.
8.
yep you are quite right, there is an Fing F in Peggy Sue
Yes, quiet clever that. When you consider F# is the more popular related minor chord in the key of A in pop music.
9.
I actually thought I was getting reasonably OK at this. Then at band rehearsal yesterday we tried to play this song... Back to the bloody drawing board All hail Bruce Foxton Except when he himself makes a bit of a mess of it:
Does he? I can hardly hear anything on these little laptop speakers.
10. I wonder if they do a bass version? https://sinolea.com/products/pocketguitar?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=WC&utm_term=MAR09_Guitar_CAAll_NF_200M7Ave7ATC_900K&utm_content=PortableGuitarImage1&utm_campaign=PortableGuitarWC
11. I like to play for people. Just sitting at home playing to records would bore me rigid.
12. It wasnt that big a hit. Apparently it only got to 62 in the US and 72 in Australia.
13. This is brilliantly bad. The out of time clapping is hilarious!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay-QStM4CS4
14. I never used to sing. In fact I couldn't sing a note until a joined a function band 20 odd years ago. They let me sing backing but I wasn't all that confident and stood back from the mike. Every gig I kept plugging away and got a lot better. Fast forward 20 years and now I am a better singer and sometimes get the lead vocals on a few numbers (Although I have to simplify the bass part) It just goes to show what you can do if you keep on at it.
15. I,m from the other end of the Central Line. Greenford
16. I use one of these with the NY 121 ext cab. Its barely more than 13kgs. http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Markbass-Mini-CMD-121P-Bass-Combo-Amp-1-x-12/ADZ?origin=product-ads&campaign=PLA+Shop+-+GENERIC&adgroup=GENERIC&medium=vertical_search&network=google&merchant_id=1279443&product_id=13463d1&product_country=GB&product_partition_id=127237573039&gclid=CjwKEAiA0fnFBRC6g8rgmICvrw0SJADx1_zAQ9yZc8grNbCO9GKkepuZdIEL7F3gP_kqhPDDfBOcDBoCVLXw_wcB
17. And they released this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsJ5aYK-S6Y
18. I quite like playing Enter Sandman. Ironically, I hated the song when we first started covering it.
19. I have been tinkering with some of the preset settings on a recently acquired Zoom B1. Some of them have quite a good sound. There is a couple of overdriven ones which I quite like, but the sound is quite muddy. I take it these presets have the EQ build in to them to achieve the sound. How do I set my amp to get the best out of these? I guess I have to set it all flat??
20.
Don't drums count as "real"?
No. Fair enough you got me.
21. 1983. Westone Thunder 1 bass and Vox 50 watt amp bought from a Littlewoods catalogue. At the White Hart in Acton. Coincidentally the same pub that burned down on New Years Eve.
22. This was a big hit some 44 years ago. All done on a Moog I believe. Not a 'real instrument' to be heard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KX_lnmb1Moo
23.
G, G#, A in low octave. G, G#, A in higher octave E, F, F# (Octave up) Mix them all up, throw in a C, C#, D (Octave up) at some point and job done.
Bugger! I'm still doing it wrong!!!
24. Lenny Kravitz - Are You Gonna Go My Way. Not particularly hard, but I couldnt seem to grasp the chromatic bass runs during the solo. They just seemed a random set of notes with no pattern to them.
