3. This is torture to my eardrums. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVAzam1cnWc
4.
Right over the pickup for that standard "P" sound, but I move about a bit for certain genres.
Exactly this ^
It might be helpful if you actually post some words rather than simply quote somebody's post? Or am I being incredibly old fashioned?
6. Fleetwood Mac - Behind The Mask. Released in 1990 after Lindsey Buckingham quit after the million selling Tango In The Night. They had to get two guys in to replace him. It got panned, but I think its great!

8. Thumb over the pickup of course. (Unless I play with a pick)
9. Blonde On Blonde or anything by Bob Dylan. When I first heard Rainy Day Women I thought it was on the wrong speed!
10. Great addition to the CMD 121. I always turn the tweeter down low on mine, but then again, thats my personal choice.
11.
I find it great for recording too - very tight bass sound that delivers results. Do you know what microphone your engineer used? Every time I've been in a studio the engineer has always taken a mic and DI feed.
AKG D112 Actually a bass drum mic. http://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/AKG-D112-MKII-Kick-Drum-Microphone-with-Flexible-Mount/18Z9
12. These guys used to work for Chandlers in Richmond, but have since set out on their own. http://www.richmondguitarworkshop.com/
13. Has anyone used one of these for a recording? I am currently in the studio making an EP with my band, and the engineer miked up the speaker of this little combo, while simultaneously running a line out from the XLR. I must say, I was quite impressed with the sound. I wasnt bothered about miking the speaker, but the engineer said it would sound great. And it did!
14. Didnt they change the Pickups from 2012 onwards?
15. I very much doubt you can find a true isolated bassline. A lot of stuff from the 60's were recorded on 3 or 4 track tape. The bass was probably mixed together with the drums and guitars.
16. Leave it and see how it goes. The effect might be barely noticeable.
17. Poor old sod has had his operation cancelled too.
18.
To be fair if I was selling a bass with those strings I would have put "needs new strings" in the description. Those strings are fit for no purpose than to prove the bass works IMHO
+1 I would have been none to pleased if I was the buyer and saw those rusty things glaring at me!
19.
Surprised it hasn't been mentioned before, try a Limelight.
Oh yes! Look at the quality of this! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/275912-nbd-limelight-dakota-red-precision-bass-1963-audio
20. The Jam - Sound Affects. The album that made me want to play the bass. Altogether now!...... Dum te dum dum dum I,ve got a pocket full of pretty green.
21.
Link?
Doh!
