  1. Fleetwood Mac are a parody of themselves these days. After sacking their talented guitarist/frontman and filling his shoes with the Crowded Heartbreakers I lost all respect for them.
  2. I suppose because they had the rhythm instruments all recorded together on 1 track of the 4 track tape, if you wanted to boost a frequency, you would boost everything on that track. Boosting low end of the bass guitar would also boost the kick drum etc.
  3. The stereo versions of most Beatles albums are considered inferior to the mono versions. If anything, the stereo versions are 'defective'.
  4. Coming soon. I,m looking forward to hearing how that sounds. https://www.thebeatles.com/announcing-revolver-special-editions-news
  5. Its based on a 1963 Precision. I believe they had a 7.25 radius with a 43mm nut width. It is quite a chunky neck.
  6. Having just taken early retirement, I'm having to thin the herd. So here is my 1963 Limelight I ordered in 2019. It hasnt been played much due to Covid hitting shortly after I bought it. £850 posted in hard supplied case. Here are the specs: Faded Sonic Blue Hand rolled finger board Clay dots Light relic Rosewood P width neck Mint Green scratchplate Period correct 1960’s Fender Precision logo Thumb rest below strings. All metal work just lightly tarnished Reverse Gotoh Tuners Strap button on reverse of headstock Rotosound flatwounds https://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/portfolio/limelight-custom-00230
  7. I better call the bloke from Radio Rentals round. My telly sound has gone wonky!
  8. Alive by Pearl Jam has popped in my head today. I dont mind, its a good song.
  9. It seems that the DVD/Bluray box set has been delayed indefinitely
  10. Nigel Harrisons solo in Atomic. Just an E minor pentatonic really, but I love it.
  11. I wont watch the whole thing again, but I will cherry pick the best bits. The rooftop concert I probably will watch several times.
  12. Georges deadpan comment: "I think I'll be ...er' .. Leaving the band now." Priceless!
  13. The video trailers released on YouTube are in fantastic quality. Even the audio recorded on 8mm film reels have been cleaned up. Anybody bought the 50th Ann remix? Whats it like?
  14. Had to learn 'So What' by Pink for a new band I'm working with. Not my cup of tea, but we rocked it up a lot and now I'm quite enjoying it.
  15. Is there much difference between the RB45 and the RS66LDN? They are are both nickel and same gauge, but one is a bit cheaper than the other.
  16. I use a markbass cmd 121 300watt combo for smaller gigs. It’s more than powerful enough for a loud drummer and guitarist. there is an extension speaker available for even louder gigs.
  17. Phil Spectors wall of sound has been toned down. It is still there but not quite as over the top as it was. A lot of people are asking why are all these albums being remixed? I dont mind. You have to bear in mind that the the originals were mixed 50 odd years ago to be played on the equipment available at the time. These days with more advanced technology, its great to hear them in high def.
  18. These look quite interesting. 90 years of recording at Abbey Road. They are giving history lectures in the famous Beatles studio. Hmm, bit pricey though https://www.abbeyroad.com/lectures
  19. Tomorrow Never Knows - The Beatles. Never mind one string, Its only one note!
  20. I have to take my hat off to The Geordie Bassist. He actually done this Jam song that I requested personally 😁
