1.
Is this the latest Adam Clayton signature model?
PMSL!
2. He already has one negative feedback for selling fake bass strings.
3. There used be a company called Wesley, who made cheap entry level guitars. I had one of the Monarch models a few years ago as a back up. It was so light I forgot I was wearing it. I dont know if they are still around, but they didnt sound too bad either. https://www.amazon.co.uk/WESLEY-MONARCH-SOLID-ELECTRIC-GUITAR/dp/B000PSNNBU
4.
I love this line ... Leo needed an amp to run it through though, so he built the Bassman amp.
He also needed strings for his new 'bass' instrument. One of the most important features of the Precision Bass was its scale length, which Leo Fender, after careful consideration and lengthy experimentation, set at 34”. Fender also contracted one of the nation’s largest string manufacturers, the V.C. Squier Company of Battle Creek, Mich., to make strings for the new instrument (these were flat-wound; the brighter-sounding round-wound bass strings prevalent today were still well more than a decade away). http://www2.fender.c...s-in-the-1950s/
5.
Something has been chewing on the headstock?
Woodworm?
6. Wasnt some other kiddies pop singer sued by Tom petty recently for plagiarism? Mind you, its not new. Poor old George Harrison was sued for My sweet lord years back.
7. I suppose you could prefix the bands name with 'The original' - That should suggest you were there first.
8. Generals and Majors from Black Sea is one of my all time faves.
9.
We do this with just a guitar. But I have thought of using a synth and a pedalboard. Why do you leave the 'Take a good look around' bit?
No one can sing it properly.
10. The Rising Sun was THE music venue back in the 80's. However, If your looking for a place to stay, the Bridge Hotel about 2 miles down the road is quite good.
11. Funnily enough, we cover this, but just leave out the keyboard bit and the 'Take a good look around' part.
12.
With your gigging schedule unless your adding new material weekly rehearsals are not necessary. Don't fall into that trap of getting bored with playing the same material, that's they way it is for most working bands. As a bass player find new fresh ways of playing those songs your bored with. I been playing a lot of the same material for the past 5 years and I never let it become boring. This is something you have control of. Blue
How can you make Sweet Home Alabama more interesting??
13. In my rock covers band, I use a pick if the original song was played with a pick. I try to keep the sound close to the original as I can. However, the last gig I played, I forgot my picks and played the whole set fingerstyle. TBH, nobody noticed.
14. We introduce new numbers every couple of weeks, although at the expense of other numbers which we consider to be stale. Sometimes when we need some extra numbers for encores, we pull the dropped numbers out of the hat and realise they were not too bad after all.
15. You will need more and better pictures if you want someone to buy your bass. People are not going to cough up £700 on the strength of that one picture.
16.
They wont age too much because people nowadays own too many to wear one out significantly.
I think you may have a point there. Back in the day, people could really afford only one decent guitar which got used all the time. Now we have two or more back ups.
17.
he's fantastic. Doesn't quite fit The Who when I see them, but which bassist nowadays does? He's great in his own right, top work with Paul Simon is what sticks out to me
He does a good job with The Seeker though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dErG0hC_nVQ
18. Nice attention to detail. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsQNST5icG4
19. Its been updated now. 19 year man plays electric bass!
20. Oh its back up for sale again?
21. Here's it being played (mimed) live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qoyWU_EDDU
22.
Me also, rude, stroppy, and impatient were words that crossed my mind reading this thread
Something makes me think we have a couple of banned members opening new accounts. The other stroppy git banned recently, also had only a few posts.
23. I never really noticed the beautiful artwork on Klaus P Bass before. I have the Concert For Bangladesh DVD and it appears to have worn away by the time that was recorded.
