  1. Wasnt it The Long & Winding Road that had the orchestra?
  2. Well, Here it is Beatle fans. A brand new mix removing all of Phil Spectors sludge. What do you think?
  3. Another vote for Stairway To Kevin on Denmark Street. There is also the Richmond Guitar Workshop. Run by the guys who used to work at Chandlers. Richmond Guitar Workshop - Guitar repairs, luthiers, Richmond. London.
  4. He must be talking about the original mix. 😁 I think it sounds fantastic. I remember reading somewhere that Harrisons family tried to stop his youtube videos.
  5. I got this remix yesterday. It is so much better with the wall of sound removed. You can hear so much more that was buried under Spectors production. Nice to hear the great Klaus Voorman drop a clanger at 2.01 which went unnoticed till I picked it up. 😊 So much more clarity in this remix, albeit a bit pricey for casual fans.
  6. Apparently, Hearing aids wont help her because there has to be some hearing left to boost. I'm 57 and have to wear hearing aids because I was young and stupid and took risks with my hearing with loud gigs and headphones.
  7. I will play what you want me to play. Or I won’t play at all if you don’t want me to play. Whatever it is that will please you I will do it. George Harrison 😁
  8. Yes, me too. August 10th. Not actually a bass player although he did invent the thing. 😁
  9. To be honest, I wasn't too sure what to do at first. I just clicked on anything till I got the hang of it.
  10. I only got 102. Mainly because I kept clicking on the wrong answer. The out of tune singing was easier. The wrong note piano would have been better if you could hear the examples a second time.
  11. The drummer admitted that he yelled "fcuk" after fumbling a drum fill at 0:54 on the record.
  12. Thats got be be up there with the 'You cant unhear it' swearing on Hey Jude and Louie Louie. 😁
  13. I started on bass because it only had 4 strings, so I thought it was easier. (Well, I was only 15) Plodding away on root notes with no concept of music theory. I then picked up the guitar a few years later, once I had got the gist of the way the bass worked. Understanding how major and minor chords worked together was a revelation to me! I can now play both, in bands and at home with relative ease. Its great to have another string to yer bow.
  14. There is also a new mix of George Harrisons All Things Must Pass. I quite like it. The dependable Klaus dropped a clanger at 2.00 min in this new mix. I had never noticed this before, buried under Spectors reverb.
  15. This is is a sad picture. One year later - Jan 1970, The Beatles are finished. Macca records his debut solo album at home. He borrows Ringos drum kit, as the famous drum head lies forelornly on the floor, no longer required.
  16. Once John hooked up with Yoko so intensely he had found his new soulmate and had no need for the other three guys. In fact, nine months later, Lennon quit the band.
  17. I thought they gave it to Phil Spector to produce? Maybe they might let him out on licence to remix it.
  18. Is Giles Martin doing a remix in the same way as he did for Sgt Pepper, White Album and Abbey Road to co-incide with this release? On the other hand, George Martin had nothing to do with the original album (Athough he features in the above video)
