  1. I use a markbass cmd 121 300watt combo for smaller gigs. It’s more than powerful enough for a loud drummer and guitarist. there is an extension speaker available for even louder gigs.
  2. Phil Spectors wall of sound has been toned down. It is still there but not quite as over the top as it was. A lot of people are asking why are all these albums being remixed? I dont mind. You have to bear in mind that the the originals were mixed 50 odd years ago to be played on the equipment available at the time. These days with more advanced technology, its great to hear them in high def.
  3. These look quite interesting. 90 years of recording at Abbey Road. They are giving history lectures in the famous Beatles studio. Hmm, bit pricey though https://www.abbeyroad.com/lectures
  4. Tomorrow Never Knows - The Beatles. Never mind one string, Its only one note!
  5. I have to take my hat off to The Geordie Bassist. He actually done this Jam song that I requested personally 😁
  6. Wasnt it The Long & Winding Road that had the orchestra?
  7. Well, Here it is Beatle fans. A brand new mix removing all of Phil Spectors sludge. What do you think?
  8. Another vote for Stairway To Kevin on Denmark Street. There is also the Richmond Guitar Workshop. Run by the guys who used to work at Chandlers. Richmond Guitar Workshop - Guitar repairs, luthiers, Richmond. London.
  9. He must be talking about the original mix. 😁 I think it sounds fantastic. I remember reading somewhere that Harrisons family tried to stop his youtube videos.
  10. I got this remix yesterday. It is so much better with the wall of sound removed. You can hear so much more that was buried under Spectors production. Nice to hear the great Klaus Voorman drop a clanger at 2.01 which went unnoticed till I picked it up. 😊 So much more clarity in this remix, albeit a bit pricey for casual fans.
  11. Apparently, Hearing aids wont help her because there has to be some hearing left to boost. I'm 57 and have to wear hearing aids because I was young and stupid and took risks with my hearing with loud gigs and headphones.
  12. Yes. They keep the brightness long after my Rotos have died. 👍
  13. I will play what you want me to play. Or I won’t play at all if you don’t want me to play. Whatever it is that will please you I will do it. George Harrison 😁
  14. A nice Japanese singalong 😄
  15. Yes, me too. August 10th. Not actually a bass player although he did invent the thing. 😁
  16. 3 packs unopened. £35 posted. 45-105 gauge. £30 reduced.
  17. The great Mr Foxton 😎
  18. This much is true.
  19. To be honest, I wasn't too sure what to do at first. I just clicked on anything till I got the hang of it.
  20. I only got 102. Mainly because I kept clicking on the wrong answer. The out of tune singing was easier. The wrong note piano would have been better if you could hear the examples a second time.
  21. The drummer admitted that he yelled "fcuk" after fumbling a drum fill at 0:54 on the record.
  22. Thats got be be up there with the 'You cant unhear it' swearing on Hey Jude and Louie Louie. 😁
  23. I started on bass because it only had 4 strings, so I thought it was easier. (Well, I was only 15) Plodding away on root notes with no concept of music theory. I then picked up the guitar a few years later, once I had got the gist of the way the bass worked. Understanding how major and minor chords worked together was a revelation to me! I can now play both, in bands and at home with relative ease. Its great to have another string to yer bow.
