1. Play with as many people as you can, and as many different genres of music as you can. Dont limit yourself to just rock and nothing else.
2.
Oh stop it! You're embarrassing yourself now! Not withstanding that you took my quote totally out of context to the polar opposite of it's meaning. You've already told us you were twelve!! - 12 ffs! when you had the revelation of seeing them on Ed Sullivan!! You weren't "there"! What were their lyrics going to tell you about "women" when you were twelve?? How to "always be true" - how to "hold their hand"?? Yeah - we get it, you're a terminally manic Beatles obsessive, but even the people who genuinely actually were "there", and I know many who were, (including some who had/have an inside perspective on it) and even they don't obsess to the point you do. Get a grip, have a word with yourself. Seriously - consider changing your colour from "blue" to rose-tinted.
Calm Down!
3. Actually, my action on the Nate Mendel is only 3mm. I have been measuring from the fretboard and not the top of the fret.
4. This has been gathering dust after being usurped by my Markbass cmd. Fully working although carpet covering a bit tatty in places. Good backup for small gigs. Pick up from Greenford Middlesex (West London) Sorry cant post. Pic from internet.
5. You have to admire The Beatles though. They imported American music and sold it back to them at twice the price!
6. Ah no! I,ve flushed it all down the toilet.
7. If your a new player, I would plump for nickles. They are easier on the fingers for newbies. Take a look at Ernie ball super slinkies.
8.
You need to go to specsavers mate, It say's Mosrite of Classics lol
On the heel it says made in japan
9. I was in Abbey Road studios a few weeks back. They have opened a shop in the building next door, to fleece Beatle fans with overpriced tat. BTW, did you know that Jimmy Tarbuck was in John Lennons class at school?
10.
Hi there. As this is your first post; who is 'we'? Could you please expand.
Business seller? - Harrumph!
11. I used my brand new Nate Mendel at a gig recently and didnt realise the Quarter pounder pickups made such a difference to the sound. Also gigged a new Thunderbird but its narrow nut width caught me out. Missed a few notes
12.
Bought the combo today...great piece of kit...will be buying the 2x10 next week...
Is it heavy??
13. What (If any) are the advantages of these over a Vox Amplug? Anyone use one?
14. Bassist - Not good enough to play a proper guitar.
15. Lennon originally wrote that for Timothy Leary's campaign for governor of California against Ronald Reagan, which promptly ended when Leary was sent to prison for possession of marijuana:[sup][4][/sup]

18. There used to be a basschatter called Milty who had his own bass string website. He no longer contributes to this forum (wonder why?) Can any one tell me what the site was called and if its still trading?
19. Guitar Improver - Self styled tinkering microlight pilot with too much time on his hands.
20.
Are these effects boxes simple to use ? I look at some of em and I wouldn't have a clue what buttons to press
I,m the same as you, A complete technophobe. That is why I suggested the vox amplug, just plug in and play. However, as others have said, Its not rocket science to read the instructions on the zoom. There are also youtube vids
21. Met Brian Bethell bassist of Nine Below Zero while watching a band at the old Red Lion in Brentford many years back. Thoroughly nice bloke. Gave us a lift to the station in his little Renault.
22. You could even get a vox amplug if your just noodling at home. You can play along to your music or the built in drum machine.
23. The Beatles' Sgt Pepper and Setting Sons by The Jam started off as concept albums which after recording several songs, the concept idea was dropped.
24. Name and shame so we can give this place the wide berth it deserves.
25. I,ve got a few days off with a torn ligament in my left wrist. Its quite a challenge trying to change the scratchplate on my P bass with one hand.
