I used my brand new Nate Mendel at a gig recently and didnt realise the Quarter pounder pickups made such a difference to the sound. Also gigged a new Thunderbird but its narrow nut width caught me out. Missed a few notes

What (If any) are the advantages of these over a Vox Amplug? Anyone use one?

You could even get a vox amplug if your just noodling at home. You can play along to your music or the built in drum machine.
