5. In all honesty, I grew up in the 70,s where a lot of Fenders were about. In all the bands I loved, they all played a Precision (Apart from Bruce Foxton who did eventually succumb). All very different genres too. Like Horace Panter from The Specials, Bedders from Madness, Bruce Thomas and that bloke from The Pretenders all sporting P basses. I guess its just rubbed off on me. Yes, I,m a Fender fanboy but I have no intention of shoving it down peoples' throats.
6. Matey boy here has nailed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4eeX4lvLk8
7.
I love my US Standard but I really don`t see £700 worth of difference between the two - a couple of hundred at best. MIMs have certainly raised their game over the last few years.
Indeed. I was never a fan of MIM Fenders, But now the Nate Mendel I bought recently is now my main go to bass.
8. I have 3 Precisions and an Epi Thunderbird. I mainly play the P basses and have absolutely no interest in high price boutique basses or fancy shaped pointy things. What I play, I can do on a Fender and thats it.
9. Well done! Congrats on buying your first proper bass. Now you can take the tag off.
10. I think a better idea would be to release the Let it Be movie on DVD/Blu-ray. That be worth it for the rooftop concert alone.

14. Golden Earring - Radar Love. After the intro and the long pause before the familiar bass part kicks in, the punters know whats coming next.

21.
Or is there an initiation necessary to be an actual 'bass player' ?
Oh! I had better check for skiddies.
22. George Harrison from a certain 60's scouse quartet was quite a proficient bassist. Take a listen to She Said She Said and Old Brown Shoe. John Lennon hated playing bass as you can hear on the Long and Winding Road while Macca was on piano he really f***ed it up! Paul Weller and Lindsey Buckingham were both bassists who migrated to guitar.
