I think there was a Maurice Plaquets in Shepherds Bush too. Although I think it was mainly pianos. I bought my first proper bass, (A Squier 57 P bass) from Dave Simms in Ealing in December 1984.

In my experience, bassists are hard to come by. Guitarists are two a penny in my part of London. Drummers and keys are also thin on the ground. Addlestone must be full of unemployed bassists then??

Still on the look out for a back up precision, I wandered into Wunjo.s and had a tinker with a few. I was offered one of these to look at and was a bit sceptical as i was not a fan of Mexican basses or signature models. But I was pleasantly surprised. The neck is gorgeous as is the thump from the Quarterpounder pickup which is great. My only gripe is the rather odd relicing which looks rather like a halfhearted attempt with the odd blemish here and there. I would post pics but you all know what they look like.

I,m quite interested in one of these. Has anybody had any experience with them? Are the necks really chunky compared to the recent USA standards?? i quite enjoyed the Sheridan Smith Cilla TV show last year.

You may find you dont need the NY121 for rehearsals. I play in quite a loud rock band and the CMD121P copes well enough on its own.
