7. Yes. I would in any case, as flats have a higher tension. IIMHO, basses are rarely playable out of the box and probably need a setup anyway regardless.

10. It plays well out of the box? The Quality Control of some new Fenders have been a bit suspect recently. My brand new 2011 US Standard had a terrible hump at the top of the neck which resulted in some work to make it playable.
11. Everyone Liked. This is fun!
12. Maybe it was a bitsa put together for a television appearance that meant being covered in fake snow? BTW did you know that Muds bassist Ray Stiles wrote Kylie Minoges number 1 hit "Cant Get You Out Of My Head??

14.
I remember hearing him say that he was very influenced by the Duran Duran bass player. Can't remember his name, the one that Mrs RR used to fancy
John Taylor? I suppose I can understand that. Neither are root note plodders.
15. I believe she played on the theme for the Vietnam based black comedy M*A*S*H which actually got to number one and was subsequently covered by the Manic Street Preachers.

19. I dont get attached to basses, they are just bits of wood and metal. Tools for the job. I have had many over the years. I can remember my first 3, but after that its a bit of a blur.
20.
Yes, and cats! Sometimes I've thought I heard the cat miaowing outside the door, and then realised it was something in the music. I can't think of any specific tracks though and it's always when I'm listening to the radio rather than records. Something to do with higher frequencies?
Theres a cat meowing in the solo of Middle of the road by the pretenders! i am sure of it.
21. I used to imagine I could hear someone shouting "f***ing Hell!" on The Beatles Hey Jude. Many years later it turns out I was right all along! 22. Play the open E and kill it with your left hand when you want to mute it. Keep your left hand in the position you are going to play the D. I,m afraid there is no easy way to tell you (as will everybody else on here will agree) that it will come with practice.
