2.
Perhaps that's what is 'magic'.
3. I was listing to All mod cons this afternoon, and Bruce Foxtons tone still gets me even after 35 years. A P bass (I think) he was using for that album.
4. Thanks for pointing that out, I never noticed that mod. It does look a bit of a bodge job.
5. Being mainly a P Bass guy I am looking for a spare guitar, I quite like the look of these. What are they like? I may put in an offer. 6. The Fender Precision is the Ford Focus of the bass world. Good at what it does, and does it well!
7. Gutted and speechless! .....
8. What bass is that? Looks like the ones you could get in Woolworths for £49 This is me circa 1985 ish as a young bass god wannabee
9. I read your ebay post Roger but I think the last bloke was right when he said 'Also don't forget that whoever bought that fake has buyer protection..' So we have done all we can as basschat.
10. I read somewhere that he was not happy with that sax part. He thought it was poorly played and off key. I think its beautiful
11. Should be renamed Musical Middle Aged - in case the trades descriptions act gets wind of it!
12.
Making basses in China with the Fender Logo was to me the biggest mistake ever in devaluing the brand. The Mex instruments are much worse than the Squire special series basses in quality, the whole range is just a complete mess. USA basses with neck pockets you can put plectrums in !. The Fender Logo should in my opinion only be used on the very best USA instruments and use Squire for everything else. The brand has lost its Kudos, it's no longer a premium instrument brand, you can buy Fender branded Chinese basses ? WTF, sorry, but I really do hope they sell up and someone takes over and puts the Fender brand back where it belongs. Chasing the sub prime instrument market has not done them any favours.
+1
13. I,m still interested in it. I have a few days off in a couple of weeks time and may take a pootle up to see it. Of course if it sells in the meantime good luck to yer!
14. Fret cover? Never heard that one before!!

17.
Well remembered! I gave Hobbayne the note-for-note copy I have - another satisfied customer!
Yes you did thanks very much! However, we made such a pigs arse of it we gave it up!
18. Take a listen to the great Jet Harris making a complete ballsup of this song recorded live with no overdubs on Cliffs debut album in 1959
19. I got a lift to the station from Nine Below Zero bassist Brian Bethell many moons ago. He was in the old Red lion in Brentford watching a blues outfit called the Cobras. I told him I was a bass player too and he asked what I used, and when I told him a Squier P he turned his nose up! Mind you this was 1985 ish.
20. Hmmmm! Where abouts in Herts? If its the London end I may have a shifty at it
21. It is really I suppose, but I just love the grain in the wood and the block inlays
22. I like this one as demonstrated by John Mc Vie, I'm not really a fan of them, but I do like this!
23. Just the two I,m afraid. A 2011 US Standard P Bass In Olympic White and a Sunburst Bitsa thing I put together from bits and peices (In my avatar pic)
24. Try not to get too near the mike, you are singing backing vox so you dont want to drown out the singer. Take a step back so you can year if you are pitching correctly.
