1. I dont mind Hartke, I used to have a Kickback combo a few years back. But people can be a bit snobby. Behringer get a rough deal as well.
2. These ones http://www.amazon.co.uk/Proguard-MYO-Mould-custom-earplugs/dp/B006ZLF9EU
3. How many of you use earplugs when rehearsing and gigging? I have noticed my own hearing has been going down the pan recently. In order to preserve whats left I have bought some mould your own ones that fit your ears precisely.
4. Hmmph! For a forum entitled Basschat, I have not seen even one fish related post yet!!
5. Monkey Man has a great bassline, and Special Brew has a nice little bass fill/solo towards the end.
6. The Watton guitar and bass center is about an hours drive away. http://watton-breckl...e-17279413.html

8.
Please please me all root notes? It has some great little walking lines in it and some tidy rock and roll style fills, defo not roots only that one.
Oh I had forgotten about the fills. Only roots for the verses then
9. I suppose even Macca is guilty on songs like "A hard days night" and "Please please me"
10.
Yeah I watched this yesterday. Some interesting stories behind a lot of the tracks on the album. I never realised the bassist was English!
Yes and he was not the original bassist either, I got that wrong. It was Gary Valentine.
11.
Link?
Doh! http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04fmgkb/blondies-new-york-and-the-making-of-parallel-lines
12. Just stumbled across this on the BBC iPlayer. Quite informative insight into the first album I bought as a lad. Features original bass player Nigel Harrison being interviewed over his run ins with producer Mike Chapman.
13. Quite the opposite with me My guitarists are always looking to me to help them with chords and song arrangements. They nick named me the "Chordmaster" as I always seem to know what chords go where and ask me for advice.
14. Someone recently asked "What is a standard?" A look at the OP,s list should answer that question. Someone at a gig recently asked us to play "Shaking all over!" I never played it before but had a go. Its simple pentatonic bassline shapes the whole song!
15. We do Tomorrow Never Knows by The Beatles. Athough its a good tune its just one note for 4 minutes!
16. Michelle Steele from The Bangles. Hearing 'Walk Like An Egyptian' for the first time made me sit up and notice. I dont think she does it anymore, I recall reading they have a new bassist now.
17. This. I spent days practicing it, although I played the main riff on the lower strings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPvdu4NFJVA
18. Brent Spiner (Who played Data in Star Trek) is a professional singer and has released a couple of albums
19. Beatles - White Album Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan Rumours - Fleetwood Mac Signing Off - UB40 Black Sea - XTC Down By The Jetty - Dr Feelgood
20.
Zac from Emmerdale , didnt his band play on the show and release a record ??
Yes, it was a dreadful line dance parody called Hillbilly Rock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfps5znfV0c
21. Pauley Perrette from NCIS was the singer in a band called Lo Ball before she joined the show.
22.
The bassline under the solo in Are You Gonna Go My Way is epic, took me ages to get that right when I used to play it in the old band.
I havent got it completely right myself - but manage to keep the groove going http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULedZSK5tFM
23. The Seeker - The Who Are You Gonna Go My Way - Lenny Kravitz Both a bit more complex than root note plodders!
