The Beatles Let It Be single version was mixed by George Martin while the album version was done by Phil spector. Spectors version featured a different guitar solo by George Harrison, a brass section and was nearly a minute longer, although they both derive from the same 8 track tape, spector mixed them higher and edited a repeat chorus to extend the running time.

Have you tried a heavier gauge of strings? The very light gauges can be very clickity clackity when hit hard.

Good Morning Good Morning on The Beatles Sgt Pepper album has 5/4 and 4/4 in the verses. I had never noticed that until I sat down and counted along to the song. Lennon had a knack of odd time signatures.

Major, minor, pentatonic and blues scales is all I know. It got me through 30 years of playing. I cant be doing with them mixolydianphrygian malarkys!

Friday 28th March at the Royal Surrey in morden. Good reception for a support slot.

We played a support slot last Friday night to a Bloc Party type band. We do classic rock covers which is a bit of a difference. We went down really well and got every clapping along. The main band turned up halfway through our set and sat and watched but never spoke to us after we finished which I thought was a bit off. We got many compliments from the punters after we finished, with people saying that they dont get our sort of music at the pub very often. Went the main band started playing, after a few numbers people started leaving. I felt a bit sorry for them.

Ernie Ball super slinkys in the dayglo pink packet or regular slinkys in the yellow packet. I have one of each on both by fenders.
