1.
When was that Video shot then? The original must have come out in the mid seventies?
This video was Xmas 1983. You can see the drummer from the Pretenders singing along at 03:16. The original was 10 years before, 1973.
2. My favourite xmas indulgence is Phil Spectors over produced Christmas record. Interesting to add that he was also responsible for John Lennons' Happy xmas war is over, which was a complete rehash of Stewball with different words!!
3. I believe a lot of the bass was recorded by Dave Gilmour rather than Roger Waters, particularly the later stuff.
4. Singer wanted to do My Sharona. I thought yea easy with its octave riffing for 4 minutes. However, its a lot more complicated than I first thought as I stood there in rehearsal fumbling around like at complete prat!
5. http://www.bandnamemaker.com/ You cant lose!
6. The Beatles use that sequence in the opening and closing riff of "Dig A Pony"
7. Some fair points. I wish I had a website like that when I first started playing, I hadnt a clue what I was doing and just wanted to play my favourite songs which is what this site is offering, but the internet was not even thought of! Still, I think a use of the even most basic of scales serves as a roadmap to the fretboard.
8. Stumbled across a website and some youtube clips giving bass lessons on how to play bass, which gives the impression that learning scales are a waste of time. Unlike Scotts bass lessons, this site just shows you where to put your fingers and shows you note for note how to play a song. I think that you need to know a major, minor or a pentatonic at least!
9. Its always an "Item" They are never specific about what they are selling.
10. I was at a mates wedding a few weeks back. The band was reasonable but not mind blowing. One thing stuck in my mind though, the number of songs which I thought weren terrible a few years ago, now seem to be standards in this day and age. Billy Idol - White Wedding Mavericks - Dance The Night Away etc. Or am I a miserable git?

ding :(

Wait till you play on a small stage and take a step back, knock in to one of the cymbals and take a gouge out the back of the neck like I did!
12. Crystal Chandeliers is compulsary in most British Legion clubs,
13. They never had a bass at my school, anyway, they had a drumkit and I wanted to be a drummer!..,(Did I just say that in public?)
14. Have you tried to open it with a screwdriver?
15. There is a longer and better clip of Herbie talking about him playing on this song which I saw recently on the Classic Albums show on Sky Arts 1
16. Looks like someone has stuck a Roland sticker on a tatty old Satellite bass. Meanwhile here is a genuine Roland.
17.
I respect your perspective Dave but will also point out that it was good enough for Toto (Mike Pocaro), Journey (hip replacement for Steve Perry), AC/DC (post mortem), Rolling Stones (post mortem), Metallica (post mortem) and The Who (post mortem x2) amongst others. I suggest there's no black and white position based on precedent.
Agree, but the band is called Fleetwood Mac. It would only be Fleetwood left from the original line up. Also the bands you have mentioned do not have the bassists name as the groups name.
18. And has cancelled the Australian tour. Get well soon John http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/music/fleetwood-mac-cancel-aussie-tour-due-to-the-illhealth-of-john-mcvie/story-e6frfn09-1226747818854
