6. I once walked out the house with an empty case one morning telling the wife I would pop the guitar into the music shop for a setup on the way to work. The case returned home with a new bass in it and Mrs Hobbayne is none the wiser
7. Dont throw away old strings, put them in your gig bag. You never know when your gonna need them in an emergency
8. The Police - So Lonely. The decending line in the verse picked out by ear. The Jam - Pretty Green, or was it Precious??

11.
Not sure if this is a dead thread - I emailed the seller just after the ad appeared (serious interest and a buy-on-behalf deal) but no response - just hoping that the 'family issues' in the original post haven't deteriorated
Maybe give it a few days? he only put the ad up on Thursday
12.
There was a thread recently along similar lines... 13. Theres an old Pat Boone song from the 50,s called Wonderful Time Up There, where the tune follows a walking bassline, root, third fifth etc. I learned from that to pick out intervals by ear.
14. Cheers for that, I,ll have a butchers.
15. I am looking at getting some tuners for a 1999 Squier P Bass which I am doing up. I have already replaced the pickups with an SD PB1 and am looking for some vintage style elephant ear tuners. What would you recommend? I guess I may have to re drill the headstock to accommadate them?
16. I dont why he,s got that drum machine going. He is not taking a blind bit of notice of any rhythm
17. I would just make a clean break and let them start again from scratch if it were me.
18. Without Lennon to help him, Macca has turned out (In my opinion) a lot of crap since the demise of the band that that could have been as good as Wings. Apart from Band on The Run and Maybe I,m Amazed, its been dire. This is not as bad as the frog song, but not for me
19.
Wow!! I seem to remember him talking a lot about playing " Heavy, heavy bass" on Rockschool. When was Rockschool on TV?
Circa 1983/84 IIRC
20. I find this sort of thing a bit old hat really. A bit like matching shirts and ties on cabaret bands.
