2.
That's LUSH!!!
My eyes! Ze googles zey do nothing!
3.
I don't think that's fair. I read it as the experience having torpedoed a hole in the concept of the so-called "community", it wasn't made personal, it wasn't said that everyone on here is a lying, cheating scumbag. I think that your comment is out of line and an unnecessary dig.
Yes, its a bit below the belt mate.
4. IMHO opinion people are entitled to ask what they want for their gear, and we are entitled to pay what we want for their gear. If it seems to be too pricey we dont have to buy it! I have my eye on something for sale here but I think its overpriced. The seller has gradually decreased the price over a period of time and when the price is right, I will step in.
5. Well, all the guys who played are all in local bands doing the same circuit as us. On some occasions I have even depped for them so I know them well enough to know that they will respect my gear. Funnily enough, one of the bassists asked to use my bitsa because it played better than his old 76 P bass
6. Our Singers family held a party last night for his birthday, and invited local musicans to come and play and jam. Our band played for half an hour and let the others come and play. I brought along my bitsa Precision and an old Warwick combo and let them use that while I disappeared to the bar. I must confess it sounded quite good. Does anyone object to others using your gear?
7. Six Bells in Brentford? I have just driven past that pub barely an hour ago!
8. I have always played a Fender Precision. I have never had the inclination to play with anything else. The P Bass does everything I want it to do, and what it cant do I have no interest in. I did have a bit of a flirt with a Stingray, didnt like it and got shot of it!!
9. It must go somewhere. Moondance is frowned upon on this forum because it doesnt go anywhere, Where as All My Loving is a great walking line to learn from.
10. IIRC "I'm in the mood for love" is ..I.III.ll.V
11. Heh! From Austin Powers movie

Dr. Evil: The key to this project is the giant laser, which was invented by the noted Cambridge physicist, Dr. Parsons. So therefore, it is fitting to call it: "The Alan Parsons Project".
[Scott snickers]
Dr. Evil: What?
Scott: The Alan Parsons Project was a progressive rock band from 1982. Why don't you just name it Operation Wang Chung, ass?
12. Wow! A YOB P Bass in great condition for its age (Unlike me)
13. I quite like sunburst P and J basses with a tort plate (In fact I have one) But they must have a rosewood board a la Jamerson. I cant stand maple necks on a burst, it looks wrong. And also sunburst Stats and Teles look ugly IMHO
14. He must be a good session player, apparently he,s played with Billy Ocean twice!
15. P and J Pickups on a Precision Matching headstocks Strap buttons on the back of the headstock Pointy Heavy Metal type basses Nicky Wire
16. Nice bass, what are the pickups like? The VM pickups are allegedly a bit polite apparently.
17. I have been haunted the past few days by the intro and middle 8 bass part to Slow Motion by Blondie! I had to pick up the old P bass to see if I could find the notes to it to try and cleans my brain of it!
18. I was brought up listening to pick players such as Bruce Foxton, JJ Burnell, Phil Lynott, and finger players such as Horace Panter and Mark Bedford etc, and I can switch between the pick and fingers without even thinking about it! I prefer the pick on heavier numbers though, it cuts through the mix so nicely!
19. A lot of Blondie fans hated Heart Of Glass with a vengeance, accusing them of selling out and abandoning their punk roots. But the record sold trillions so they repeated the idea with Rapture, (Great bassliine from Nigel Harrison by the way) And Debbie Harry (who is older than my mother in law,) still sings them every night on tour!!
20. I was playing an open air gig last year. We were the first band on. As I was packing up, the bass player from the next band on came up to me and said "Some nice bass playing there mate!" I sort of mumbled something about the sound being sh*t, and not being able to hear myself. I guess I cant take a compliment and just say "Thanks mate!"
21. Stumbled across these photos taken on July 21st 1969 at Abbey Roads studio 3 while they were recording Come Together. Interesting to see that Macca used his Ric on that number. http://beatlephotoblog.com/69-au-go-go
