1. Site works great in both mobile and full site mode on androids chrome browser
 2.
May I just add @icastle that the existing lefty thread did not have to be taken down. Its title could have been changed to Lefty Discussion thread, moved appropriately and lefty members could still have a place to intermingle. It wasnt just about selling basses.
With existing items for sale in it that could have been very confusing. The decision to lock the thread was a group one as it had been derailed. Ofcourse you can start a lefty discussion thread elsewhere in the forum. Shiny and with that new thread smell
 3. Wiggy, I would generally side with Foxen on these matter. Chap knows what he's talking about when it comes to amps
 4. Yeah thats what the spec says
 5. Heavy... not so much but for getting the pulse going I've not come across one that beats this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAuYaeQjBXc
 6. A subtle chorus can add a bit more "body" to your sound as well
 7.
Skol Jnr is called Max... so that's his volume setting sorted out already
... and you've doomed him to be a guitarist too
 8.
Also, my apologies to all, it was recorded in 16bit so what you've got is all I can do
Retro Duuuuuuuuude
 9. Nice one fumps! How long do you think it will last?
 10. I'm glad that desk suited you well. You're really going to miss it when it's gone! I just wish I had the funds for it. They just FEEL so nice while you're using them
 11.
Thanks Charic, I get a lovely warm feeling coming back to this thread! My screen is 21.5" so I'll have to go for a 20" as I can't find any 21.5 standalone Mac monitors. Should it be pretty much plug and play?
I'm unsure with iMac's to be fair. You might be better of talking to one of the "mac geniuses"
 12.
I used to run a Berg 412 with a Markbass SD1200 in a damn loud Punk band, had no issues at all. Them Bergs can take a lot up 'em!!!! Im actually looking at a Kilo to partner my Dubster at the mo
That'll be a bit loud then
 13.
+1 If you are using more than 200 watts I'd be very suprised.
Currently that is very doubtful as I'm running a RH450
 14. Welcome back! I'm unsure on the monitor front but bear in mind you want a screen the same size if possible. ProTools isn't multiscreen at present so you have to stretch the main window across two monitors and then the two "child windows" within that. It remembers your setup once you've set it up once though
 15.
The short answer is... There are very, very few venues that will allow anyone to play at these kind of levels. If you're really pumping out close to a kilowatt, there is a very serious problem (mostly pyschiatric, I would suggest...).
Hey Dad, Thanks for the post it really was informative and enjoyable (not a great deal to comment on as it's all factually sound afaik. The highlighted section did briefly have me in stitches though
 16.
That's a nice trick! I need that mod on my amps for the next time the drummer asks me to lower my volume!
make sure you tell the sound engineer will you My drummers always ask me to turn up
 17.
I think you'll be quite safe! Pics ASAP, please.
Will do! I plan on getting a new full family shot once it's in. Need to wait for the paycheck to come through first unfortunately Next I just need a regularly gigging band. My audition tomorrow is for a folk(ish) type band so I won't get to run it hard there. I've just seen one of the death metal bands I'm playing with are now advertising for a bassist again (it was the first time I'd played with all of them and it wasn't a particular comfortable run through personality wise, fair enough... they could have said something though). I need to get Cerberus Cell back up and at full steam... could have fun with it there!
 18.
That knob with the word "volume" stamped underneath makes sure i don't smell smoke
I was engineering a gig where the volume control on a guitar amp ran backwards. That was bloody confusing! He was running really loud so ran up on stage saw it on what I thought was "nearly full whack", pulled it down bloody quick. Cue me falling on my arse! It was like getting hit in the face with a hammer! I'd just cranked it up instead of down
 19.
None, imho. Realistically you're not going to be running the Kilo at full whack, are you? The building will collapse first.
I have no intention of running it at full whack like you say I think I would notice the structural damage before that point This is me being my cautious self before going ahead with a purchase
 20. Is it a terrible idea to connect an amp to a cab when the amp is rated higher than the cab? I understand that "use your ears" is the usual sentiment, no problem with that just checking before I pull the trigger really. I currently have a rather awesome Berg NV610 (rated 750w/4Ohms) and am really liking the Hartke Kilo as my next amp (1000w/4Ohms). So I could "technically" use the Hartke to 3/4 of it's potential. I'm just wondering how much of a risk is involved with this idea?
 21.
I intend to sell a cab on here
A lefty exclusive cab? Impressive!
 22. Actually it's on the high strings of my 6string with arpeggios and chords
 23. I started playing my bass this morning before work and actually found myself with quite a depressing tune for this about ending a war
 24.
I was about to launch into my usual anti-Ritter routine until I saw this... Not sure I'd want to own it (even if I could afford it), but you've got to admit it's original!
Love it! I would happily gig this with any rock/metal/punk type outfit
