1. Me too! But the possibilities of two seperately driven cabs practically has me drooling
2.
Except you'd need a separate box to link the two channels. It looks like a useful amp for people for switch between two different basses live. Maybe I'm just too used to multi-channel guitars amps that have a single input and switchable channels.
Link the two channels? I'm thinking two separate feeds from the pedalboard, one clean and one dirty
3. That looks like a great amp! Would be especially great for having one clean and one dirty channel live.. Hmm...
4. Maybe it's a bit more consistent now but at a bassbash I tried 3 different RIC's and only liked one of them
5. Make sure to try before you buy, they vary in feel quite wildly
6. Eye contact during tracks, look for cues between the members and try to pick up on them too.
7. Cheers BRX. I have a feeling I know what this is so hopefully itll be fixed soon. I should get some time to investigate this weekend
8. Ive found the more ive used picks the less they slip. I think there must be something in the technique that develops naturally as it doesnt really happen anymore
9. If it falls through with barkin I don't mind helping out although I'm probably a bit further out
10. If people can find time to put up comments it would be appreciated
11.
The mix was ruined by a panner resetting itself before render - leaving the mix somewhat trippy to listen to....
atleast something good came of my comments
12. The original link is working for me (unless you've just altered it?)
13. Does the DIY option come with a computer to allow you to do the recording? For example, I'm a protools user but don't have a system which could really be transported to the studio (doesn't support Firewire anyway ). A local rehearsal room has a really interesting offer where they allow an "overnight" session (10pm - 10am) for a reduced rate as it won't impact on normal studio hours, which may be something to consider
14. Count me in if it reaches huntingdon and I'm gigging at the time
15.
So much choice! I do like the looks of that though.
When looking at something like the Alesis you need to consider whether you need to record more than two tracks at once, most people probably wont
16. Voting starts 24/1/13 I fully intended to enter this month but I've been sidetracked with trying to lose wait and the God of war beta
17.
I see you making these comments, yet the statement above your avatar, that I've just noticed "Moronmod", surely that could offend someone? According to dictionary; Moron. Psychology . Considered offensive, a person of borderline intelligence in a former and discarded classification of mental retardation, having an intelligence quotient of 50 to 69. Not that I give a sh*te, just an observation.
It's in reference to a previous situation where I ballsed up as a mod on here and got called (fairly deservingly) a moron.
18.
Worrying about whether or not your double-mocha-skinny-latte-wenge fingerboard might be brighter than a ekky-ekky-ekky-ptang-nuwop-ni fingerboard seems a little silly to me.
Pffft... everyone knows that ekky-ekky-ekky-ptang-nuwop-ni is brighter than double-mocha-skinny-latte-wenge
19.
Thanks for moving Ad, new to the forum! Price around £850-£900. Includes rack flightcase.
No problem, we were all new sometime
20.
BRX, we don't need to have identical basses to know if the neck construction will alter the tone, because we know it will. How we know that is because we already know that bass frequencies aren't picky, and will cross grains, glue, gaps, joints with ease. Treble frequencies follow the grain, and stop at joints, gaps, glue and even the grain. Now if you were to ask about the treble resonance of a neck through bass, and a bolt on bass, i would bet that the neck through would come off better.
If popular culture is to believed it would also depend on the woods used though (heavily disputed btw). Also other phrases are banded about which would disagree with that particular assessment, bolt ons are generally considered more aggressive sounding compared to neck throughs which are generally considered more "polite". Personally I expect a good bolt on can sound like a neck through and vice-versa. However... It could be that neck through basses are built with a certain sound in mind (and for the same reason so are bolt-ons), because of this we have a preconceived idea of how they sound.
21.
Really??
Yep, a direct comment against someones state of mind seems pretty abusive.
Oh, come on Charic, when someone is brave enough orders a guitar that looks like that (and you've go to really want it as I imagine it was a small fortune and took a while to make) they'll be wanting to draw attention to themselves and so also be brave enough to stand up to people's remarks of favour or otherwise. I doubt the owner would be offended, at least I wouldn't be if it was me, and I'm not brave enough to order a guitar like that - even if I could play it.
True enough, saying you don't like something is fair enough. Comments against the person playing isn't.
