1.
Does that tell me when the EAD 1x12" cabs will be available. Please start a "We Love Spoombung" topic, if there isn't one already.... Cheers.
Largo, it's not up to you to dictate which way a thread travels.
2. Through a line6 UX2 you could either use the instrument in (straight from bass or pedals but not amp) or you could use a XLR DI OUT on a head direct into the XLR in on the UX2. If you can do the latter it will nearly always sound better / more faithful to what you are hearing. I'm unsure as to what you're using at the moment amp wise but last I remembered you had a TC head, the DI out on those is great.
3. If you have a soundcard with an XLR in you could always DI
4. Not a bad thought. I'll have a chat with some of the guys about it and see what we can come up with, I forgot about bandcamp
5. I was thinking more in terms of cost etc... Once we have a years worth I'll get a group together to discuss how to best go about it. Releasing on a monthly basis would definitely not be cost effective. Releasing 12 cd's in one go may be a possibility. If we're not worried about packaging etc. Or even a dvd of a years worth may be possible (then burn your own compilation from there). Put it on your xmas list for Santa this year and hopefully you'll get it in your stocking (oooer...)
6. Oi you lot, stop posting in the wrong thread. New pictures up, get to work!
7. Do it then tell them on the EBMM forum so we can watch the fireworks
8. Have you been looking at my Amazon purchase history
9. As amazing and cool as it is Bilbo I have to repeat myself, you are NOT tricking me into Jazz Congrats mate
10. I actually want something like this in pedal form. I think it could be great live
11. I would go 2 x 210 (and have)... the TC Electronic RS210 cabs go pretty cheap on here secondhand (£2-300) and they're very good. Ashdown cabs go pretty cheap too but I know nothing about them
12. Looks cool, shame protools doesn't support VST
13. Doods basses are a bit of a special purple colour but I can't find it atm
14. After a very close race (nearly a 3 way tie!) BobbyK pulled ahead to secure 1st place in last months competition and has provided me with this months picture: The usual gumph : A picture will be posted by the previous months winner to act as inspiration for that months piece. The piece should be no more than 5 minutes long and should be composed and recorded in the same month as the piece in question. To be clear, any instruments / sounds can be used although copyright should be followed for obvious reasons. Also Basschat T&C's should be followed within the actual recording so : [i]6. 15.
Finally - and I repeat myself - it would be good to be able to buy/download all the songs taking part in the comp every month.
I'm thinking of sorting something like this of "Winners Entries" once we have a years worth of material
16. And the winner is... by a hairs width... BobbyK!! Phew... I was getting worried about a 3 way split then
17. It comes down to how you write songs. I wouldn't focus on writing an EP to begin with, write the first track that suits the "theme" or "sound" that you want. After that you essentially just have to stick to that theme or sound. As for how you write, that's down to you. Personally I'm a keyboard player originally and very "riff" based (probably because of my background in rock and metal). I struggle with drum beats but I'll start of with something dead basic that works as an advanced metronome and holds the structure for the song for me. Next up is recording bass or melody, then the other. Adjust the drums at this point to suit. Then fill it out with synths/pads/more guitar stuff.. whatever really.
18. Wont be long mate I'm looking forward to making some time for composing
19. You weren't "obviously" doing anything. I just decided an end day
