Good afternoon, Charic... You seemed to have solved the 'drummer syndrome' issue. Do you use loops, or random percu..? No drums at all..? Rhythmic head-banging..? What's the secret..? Just curious...
We use ableton live running Steven Slate Drums, we have had a few issues with inadequate monitoring but aslong as we can hear it we're fine
The pics are great charic Looks like a great time had by all. Alas I am too old for death metal gigs now. I know everyone on here says you're never too old for anything, but honestly I really think there is a time limit for attending death metal gigs and I am well past it! (I still like metal though, and I bet your band is awesome)
Nonsense, we had a couple of "not as young" people about at the gig and they were grinning away too If you fancy having a listen our pre-release for the album "Lessons in Divinity" is here Autumn Leaves

Funnily enough there's not much of a scene around here but what it does mean is that when you put on a gig people go all out for it (if they turn up )

After a gruelling battle with a suitable amount of drama Skol303 came out as Novembers Composition Winner, winning himself a brilliant prize of a custom made bass from 13 guitar co. Lucky git! As an added bonus this month Skol303 has kindly offered up a prize of a Basschat Polo shirt fresh from the store in support of basschat. As per the rules Skol303 has picked the picture for next months composition. Which should get some interesting results Usual Entry Rules: A picture will be posted by the previous months winner to act as inspiration for that months piece. For those of you interested in how the gig went check here: Http://basschat.co.uk/topic/193068-first-headline-gig-what-a-night/page__st__20 Ill see if I can build the new thread on my phone
-
Well... what can I say. Im still in shock about how it went, we didnt break even as a lot of people flaked. Many of them being the same people who were bringing large groups. But oh my what a reaction. Moshing Headbanging Jumping Heavy metal macarena to a metal version of word up Wall of death And the finale? We got about 70 people on stage with us going mad all around us as we played our encore We had a few technical difficulties and monitoring issues but we poweted through. At least the crowd enjoyed themselves!
-
Thanks for coming along thurbs. Great big post to come on here once ive fully recovered what a crowd though... fek Did your boy get onto the stage?
-
Ill put up the new thread tonight. Currently too knackered lol. RockfordStone, your track was the best for me. It fit the pictures well to my imagination and was a great song in isolation too. Hence why it got my vote.
-
Last n8ght was pretty amazing although it had its quirks. Took a few tracks until we could here the drums properly and I could barely hear the guitarist at all which led to a few interesting moments. Top that off with the guitarists loop pedal going haywire so it had to be left out which is a big shame. So far a recipe for disaster however. .. What a night and what a crowd! Thurbs wven came along and brought his son and his friend along too. We had head banging, mosh pits, a wall of death, someone got cracked ribs and the grand finale? We got pretty much the whole crowd on stage with us moshing along around us, we were seriously thinking we were going to go through the stage at one point. All in all a great night, we didnt break even but it was so worth it even so
Moves should be natural or not done at all... I only get apprehensive about tickets and attendance not the performances itself..
If the attendance hits whats expected well be turning people away on the door. The response has been fantastic, apparently the last gig made a bit of a name for us. My singer keeps getting asked if hes going to the gig because theres a great band on... they have seemed a bit shocked once theyre told hes the singer lol

Bloody hell this is close! can someone pm me who has the most votes at midnight please (I playing a gig). Also to the forerunner s please start deciding what you will pick as a picture for next month.
