3. Ok that's it folks! And the winner is.... .... Skol303!!! Well done and well deserved. As soon as Skol gets back to me with next months picture I'll start the next thread!
4. You can vote for none of them which is the same... but then... you wont have voted You can't do that!
5. What a great day. Got chatting with a fair few of you and made loads of noise through my "not really 450w rig" 5imon wouldn't sell me his Tech 21 XXL but atleast I know it's a pedal I want now! Thanks to sibob I now have moderate pedal GAS too. Thanks to you I'm now looking for... (wait for it)... Tech 21 XXL, Boss LS2 and a Good EQ pedal (adding my behringer chorus into it) thinking this could make an even HUGER sound. Almost forgot the shock of finding out that my RBX6JM used to belong to shockwave who just so happened to be sharing my rack 5imon ended up talking (reluctantly... ofcourse ) about one knob compressors again don't pull any punches mate! Was nice to see the asymmetric neck on the ACG causing confusion and the irony of sibob (our tapdancing hero) telling me the ACG pre-amp was too complicated for him! I've also got me a Zoom B2 to play with Well done to the organisers, seriously! I know how hard it is to organise these things and I really do take my hat off too you all! Hip, hip... HOOORAY!!!
6. I'll ask the winner to get looking tomorrow, currently looking like it's going to be Skol barring any sudden changes
7. Thing is... I love it and can make it work great but I can't help but feel some other pedals would get used much more often in a death metal band
8. Replied: Slight clarification, some of the pedals I've listed aren't the same value as the dl4. Example 2nd hand value of ls2 on here seems to be approx.£50 so I would ideally be looking for other pedals to put the value up to 130
9. Hi guys, Got a line6 dl4, its a brilliant delay (and short looper) that I'd like to put up for trade. Not hugely interested in a sale at the mo as I just want some stuff to experiment with and if it sells ill just end up having to spend the cash on something "useful". Pics to come later. Putting a trade value of £130 (around £200 new) on this: Stuff I'm particularly interested in: Tech 21 xxl bass distortion! Boss ls2 (or other good switching / blending solution) Small pedalboard (for around 5 pedals) Good EQ pedal
10. Oh if anyone fancies flogging a distortion pedal o have some cash burning a hole in my pocket :-p
11. I rarely dabble with using anything but a pick but it's floating thumb is what I use otherwise. No idea why, it's just what feels right. As I usually use a pick I mostly left hand mute anyway
12. Yup, 2 x 210 is summat a bit special. If you like the sound of the 2x10 then two of them is the same but more
13.
I was going to sell mine in the loud room. Mostly as there will be plenty of amps around to try it on! On other matters, is there anyone who does'nt mind me sullying their collection of basses by letting me putting my Grabber and SUB with them? I am unable to bring amps and last time I brought my Pedullas no one tried them out because I had no amp for them to plug into!
I should have a couple of spaces in my rack
14. Looks pretty nice, never heard of them though
15. I'll raise a pasty in your name nige (as I can't drive with such a long drive )
16. Oh dear he's changed his title again Mark D Phillips....... (guitar converter and improver)
17.
Help! I don't understand 'we' spend huge amounts of time & money getting the 'right cab/s' (not to mention anything else for now) for 'our sound', then you say "No cab needed and sounds epic"? How does that work? I know what you mean about the DI but what if the system you're DI'd into is crap? Are they all so good?
Well yeah, you rely on the system somewhat but if weight is truly an issue then the TC gear is a great way round it if you're willing to rely on the PA. As the TC gear DI'd and coming through my Studio Monitors sounds almost exactly the same as through my cabs it seems a pretty fair way forward. Would I WANT to do it? Not really, I like being hit by a wall of sound from my cabs but if weight was an issue for me I'd do it in a heartbeat
18. One of the TC amps and use the DI? No cab needed and sounds epic
19.
Thanks for the kind words chaps, I'm not drinking before posting again (much)
With a name like redstriper you have do drink I'm afraid.
