1. No experience of brand but not currently holding my breath. What's your budget? I'm sure we can find something between us for you :-)
2. Reminds me of : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eA6ykQMVP3Y
3. Good point brx if whoever voted for redstriper (tacsi) pms me ill amend the vote :-)
4. I'm tempted, if only to wipe the smile off of my guitarists face
5. I meant good luck with voting for RedStriper Definitely let us know when it will be aired
6.
Sorry, sorry, sorry... I've done a bad thing - first of all I'm Tacsi and secondly, I cheated My band is called Tacsi and I linked to a song we wrote last year, it wasn't written this month. I didn't read the OP properly, (I was very drunk at the time) and the picture made me think of this song so I made the link and promptly forgot all about it - until now. Anyway thanks to whoever voted for the song, but you should transfer your vote and I should be scorned as unworthy .
thanks for owning up. What a "rock and roll" story
7. I don't mind a bit of weight My stuff is only lightweight because I like the sound of it. The weight is a nice side effect
8.
I'm out I'm afraid guys, somethings come up this weekend that I can't get out of. Hope you have a good bash and take lots of pics, videos etc... Eude
Damn, I was looking forward to trying the ead :-(
9. Ironically I remembered last night that in a previous band a guitarist I worked with used a Marshall amp through a peavey 4x10 bass cab and it was the best sound I had ever had from a guitarist so I'm getting pretty excited now
10. Turns out he typed wrong, its a peavey 4x10 bass cab
11. Oh dear god... save me! He's just bought a Peavey 2x12 bass cab. He's probably going to be bassier than me
12.
Knock it off 51m0n!! You know that have serious GAS for 2 Berg HD410's!! This is not helping
Fixed
13. Got chatting to the guitarist last night and he's really happy (even more happy when I pointed out some of the other possibilities with the amp that he hadn't yet considered, MIDI etc.) However, he agrees it's probably going to deafen us, and actually cares about it. Weird for a guitarist eh? Anyway we got looking at these HOTPLATES etc, but the overruling factor at this point in time is cost. Unfortunately in order to buy this amp he's traded in a lot of his gear to be able to afford it (2nd hand) and won't be able to afford something as nice as a hotplate for a while. Are there any cheaper alternatives? He mentioned he read somewhere about dummy loads. Would that do the same job? I think this was the article.. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1994_articles/apr94/dummyload.html Thanks to everyone for their help so far, I'll be getting Mr Guitar to sign up to guitarchat as soon as it's live
14. Glad to hear it Nige. It ends a week before the end of the month to allow for a week of voting. Then a new pic can be decided ASAP by the winner :-)
15.
Lowdown's link is not working for me.
Lowdown has messaged me saying he's had to withdraw. I won't go into any detail here
16. Nope but there's a setting under "my settings"
