1. I think they're to help encourange even picking strength. Especially used on basses with ULTRA-low action. By having a ramp which reduces how hard you can hit the string you can put the strings much lower without having to worry about rattle purely because you CAN'T hit it too hard I played with a ramp for the first time on Doods Shuker, took some getting used to but it was alright
 2. Thought of something else, depending on the size of the rack it is possible the rack itself is vibrating and in turn turning the floor into a sounding board. Worth checking the metal of the rack for vibrations I honestly think your first port of call is changing the fans if possible though
 3. My perceived level of importance of members in ANY band FrontMan/Vocalist - 50% (Maybe 40%) Band - 50% (Maybe 60%) I don't play bass to be more or less important than the rest of the band, at the end of the day the band functions as a unit and fails or prevails together.
 4. A hidden entry you say?! The plot thickens! Who's the entrant? Are they actually entering? Find out next week on.... BassChat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rUxKq7w6ec
 5. FWIW I'm thinking of aiming for peterborough for the next bash :-)
 6. Argh! You lucky git! Tc are one of those companies that I would love to work for. Although I probably need to get my head around more dsp programming first.
 7.
Best gig bag I ever had was the Tribal Planet 'top of the line'... Anyone knows if they still exist at all ?, I would really really like another one .
I've got a tribal planet bag I think it's great! It's still in perfect knick after 6 years!
 8. More interestingly can you play what I imagine? Telepathic bass lines
 9. I would LOVE to have a play on something like this I think you should bring it to the SE Bass Bash so I can make a fool out of myself
 10. I started organising bass bashes just because is seemed like a great idea. The first was a massive success and the second went well in all except attendance. A lot of work goes into finding venues for these meets and keeping costs down. Key things to remember : Lower costs mean that the ticket price can go towards a charity but venues have to be fairly large in order to accommodate the volume of 20 + bass amps being pounded at the same time. It's a fine balance and its not easy to find a venue. Plug sockets are in demand! When you check out a venue it's the small things that make a huge difference :

Seperation (can you split the bash across several rooms?, is there a quiet area for people to chat?)
Isolation, is the venue next to houses? How would they react to 20 + bass amps?
Refreshments, will you bring your own or will they be supplied?
Accessibility, is it easy to reach? (Something I'm trying to address for the next EABB, accessibility by train etc)
Can you attract the crowd?
How are you going to lay the room out? You could have a huge hall but all the plug sockets could be in one corner, making it next to useless.
Like I say, it's a fair amount of work but I enjoy the days I go to and the days I put on. It's hugely rewarding and you meet some great guys. If you need someone to chat too feel free to drop me a line
 11. Very welcome Saw this thread this morning and saw the word fuzzrocious in the effects section. Just so happened that it was the same type! What are the odds
 12. Am I the only person who zones out then?
 13. I've got a string swing I can donate (if I remember to bring it and I can make it)
 14.
OTOH if you have a suitable more more cost effect source of replacement foam in more colours than blue and red I might be interested.
I did mail this guy about some orange foam (band colours are black and orange, would love to get the mic changed to black aswell) but he never got back to me. 15.
Having worked through the tutorial - it almost seems doable. Looks like the bits should cost C£20 - have created the template. Think I'm gonna have a go....wish me luck folks
Good luck! Are you changing the foam or keeping it the same? If it goes well my singer might be asking if you can do his for him
 16.
...since Mr Venom may well be going wireless soon.
Oh dear god... save us I'm guessing none of the audience will be safe?
