1. Awesome! More entries Really looking forward to having a listen through the new stuff and will feedback once I've managed to get through it without interruption Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far and to those who are planning on contributing/listening
 2.
BTW the bass I was looking at in the sales forum wasn't a Alembic, it was the ACG
Any bass is whatever make of it. Acgs are remarkably versatile a bass only links how you model it :-)
 3. They look a bit nice!
 4. Damn I was hoping the Ibanez was going to go up Good luck with the sales mate
 5.
I think somebody once said something like "Wear what your audience is wearing, but ramp it up by 10% or more".
I like this a lot...
 6.
Plus the weight of the one-way valve.
And the extra pages added to the manual oh and the spare helium tank incase you have a leak.
 7.

8.
do you have a pic of you playing it live at all?
Not the best pics as the camera was a bit broken :
 9. My ACG isn't for particularly "fancy" music... atleast ever never heard death metal called "fancy" before. I play with a pick and I play it HARD!
 10. You could always get the gig and work your best at ruining it as revenge
 11.
Absolutely this! I'd be inclined to mention it to the venue with each gig, just make them aware.
I'd be prepared and have something in writing assuring them that he will not be drinking blah blah blah. He could even have a lanyard or summat saying "soft drinks only" if they get really funny about it. If you come across as professional and treat is as "oh it's this again" you may be able to fool them into this being a "standard" approach to a young musician.
 12.
I don't play through an amp/cab. I play directly into the computer I have. The problem with the E string isn't just it's disproportionate volume.
What are you listening through? What speakers or headphones? This may have something to do with the perceived volume of the string.
 13.
Oh I like that, though now I have an urge to put on my big long coat and go walking over the moors while pretending I am looking out for Orcs.
14. Maybe we could get it shipped to the South East BassBash and use it for a demo?
 15.
right, i got the strings on yesterday. They are wound correctly and have settled more or less. However the E string is experiencing all the same symptoms it did before. The volume issue is clearly down to the quality of the pickup the quality of which, unsurprisingly, is commensurate with the price of the instrument. Other than being new better strings than were on previously everything is exactly the same. There is fret buzz that only seems to have appeared after I adjusted the truss rod (which isn't easy when the strings are on) on the 1st fret at the E and A strings. This wasn't there before.
Out of interest is the E string still quiet when you fret the 12[sup]th [/sup]fret? If so your problem may actually lie with EQ. Also I would suggest having another look at the way your pickup is sat. Is it all the way up or all the way down? Is the pickup level across or higher on the side of the treble strings? If it's higher on the side of the treble strings, lower the pickup on that side only and it should balance the volume. Like most others here, I doubt that it's really the basses quality in question here.
 16. Yep, I'd agree with the above. Make sure not to come over as a push over but be gracious at the same time.
 17. Thanks for the feedback, I don't know about composition as such. It was improvised :-) Looking forward to hearing your entry nige
 18. Still want to try some bergs, something just looks so "right" about them... I wonder what my RH450 would sound like through 3 x HD210's
 19.
Pardon my ignorance. So if i have 2 x 8ohm cabs and link one to the other will that then take the impedance down to 4 ohms and give me the full power out of the amp?
Add another 8 Ohm cab the head will operate 3 but it's a secret
 20.
I was going to go for "Gertrude"
GerBob? or BobTrude?
 21. I wonder what's going on with the bass outside of the photo
 22. This chaps selling a hydrive for £300 which could help keep the cost if you move it on down. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/178660-hartke-hydrive-410-cab-l300/ Alternatively, he's probably a good person to ask
