1. I've got qp's in my mex if you want to give it a try. Should be at the se bass bash with it :-) alternatively happy to meet up.
 2. Any 4 string bass within reason can work with Drop C tuning, I've done it on my ACG and on my Fender. The trick is to find the right strings. If you give the guys at Newtone a shout then they'll sort you out
Hang on, do I get this correctly, a 4 string bass that's tuned... how? Low C on what used to be the open E string, and what are the other open strings tuned to?
CGCF FWIW I have tried playing the Cerberus Cell tracks on my 6er but as my guitarist writes the songs in Drop C I would be holding down the first fret of the B string an awful lot and sacrificing a lot of speed in the process... (not something I can afford to do, I'm just not good enough for that )
 3. Here's my entry for now. http://soundcloud.com/thebrokensky/underthesurface I think I MAY have been playing too much Skyrim recently
 4.
you start off on a Squire Precision
Peavey Millenium BXP but I'll let that pass
then discover exotic woods, active pickups and extended range instruments before giving a 4 string jazz ago until you give up, come full circle and just buy a decent precision
Sounds like my ACG
and extended range instruments
Sounds like my Yamaha RBX6JM
before giving a 4 string jazz ago until
I don't get on with Jazz necks (too skinny)
just buy a decent precision
Was my second bass, MIM P bass (modded)
 5. Just managed to record something "passable" while fiddling on the keyboard, may use that (can't really add to it a great deal as timing is exactly constant throughout )
 6. Lovely bass, BRX put this up in the weird and wonderful thread and I fell in love with it there. Shame I didn't have the monies to pull a trigger on this
 7.
There are a few YouTube videos from people who have built their own. Studiospares seemed to have replacement hinges. The main requirement of a DIY version seems to be rounding all the edges so you do not slice your hand off moving them.
You could always put some foam or rubber around the edges if you wanted
 8. It's just a piece of acrylic? How much would that cost to knock up in the shed?
 9.
We have a laser cutter that we have never configured for cutting plastic where I work. This is our stock answer, so you could be right.
What happens when they say ok?
 10.
Love the polystyrene formwork idea, dont fancy being the poor chap picking it all back out though! Tremendous gear list that, much droolage!
Superglue melts polystyrene down to nothing
 11. 99% sure we need subs We've played with subs before at a rehearsal room and it made a big difference for us especially as the vocals were much clearer
 12.
That Tubetone on TC amps is great. I used to set mine to just break-up sound, and it was very authentic.
I quite like putting it on full at times
 13. Just a tweak in the EQ (cut some high and boosted the "tubetone")
 14. I'm obviously more mischevious than you
 15. rh450 and 2 x rs210 (with my drop tuned ACG 4)
 16. Lie of the day : " I could do that if I wanted too"
 17.
Phone Battery goes flat.
Someone else manages to get a hold of the same app and hook into your system
 18.
The image didn't say 'bebop head' to me so it forced me to think outside the box.
Excellent, exactly the point of the excercise Had a quick listen on my phone and it sounded pretty bloody tense, will have a listen through my monitors before the end of the month We had to do this as part of a uni module and I really enjoyed it then, which is why I thought it might go down well here
 19. Was Amazing!! Tweaked the sound a little bit differently to normal and stood back, on a particular note (Low F, 5th fret on my drop C string) with volume less than halfway it felt like a tennis ball hitting my chest and I couldn't play it without having a coughing fit. Niiiiiiice!
 20.
Charic - you leave reasonably close to me. If you want to have a blast through my PA at a rehearsal to give you some ideas, give me a shout. It has a pair of subs and two full range cabs each side, and two monitor mixes. I used it this weekend for a band in which two of my sons play (see below). They are definitely not quiet, and it coped fine
Nice track Enjoyed that Thanks for the offer! What's the system out of interest? May well take you up on the offer
 21. When I saw him playing at the mk bowl he was playing a RH450
 22. It's a case of some of the venues we've played the setup hasn't always been able to cope with the combination of drums and vocals. As our drums are programmed we HAVE to be able to hear them (we played 3/4 of a gig to drums that the crowd could hear and we couldn't... it was NOT easy). In the situation that the venue has a good PA then we'll just have ours on stage in place of a normal drummer so we can hear it where it should be and the normal monitors can focus on vocals. PERFECT! If no PA at venue then the idea is to use our own
 23. I wouldn't think so, they have been designed for it afterall. I figured it could really help with the scratchplate and any other small parts
