1. Unless you want to become a keyboard player (like me ) practice your left hand at least as much. I grew up on the old Kenneth Baker books (I think...)
2.
It does seem to me that some producers are just unwilling to leave behind their Fender presets when mixing. Just sayin'. I happen to love the Warwick shapes, they're quite distinct, elegant and the natural wood look is beautiful. My incoming RB Corvette will make a great pairing with my Overwater Contemporary J I reckon, on all counts.
Hehe, that's why you mod your fender. Any producer when mixing my Pbass will get a shock if they expect it to sound "stock"
3. I didn't realise the LG qualified as a singlecut?
4.
Have you seen this one? Stunning...
This is my favourite Warwick and my second favourite bass. Can I have one please?
5. Which ever is on the right (I think centery?) Looks nicest too me, the one on the left looks like it's been squashed to me. But that's just me
6. I recorded my first track for the current album a little while back and got what I thought was a perfect take, grinning like a fool I played it back isolated.. my face dropped.. it sounded terrible, little buzzes here, bit of string noise there and I was absolutely gutted. So I rerecorded and rerecorded until it was almost perfectly clean, then I played each of them back in turn with the track. The original one sounded better, and not just by a little bit! At this point I was very happy but felt like an idiot as I had spent the best part of an entire day recording the same track again and again despite the first take sounding the best!!
7. Always liked the look of the eyeland stuff, but when I enquired the cost of delivery + import just made it too pricey to warrant.
8. Cleaner?! My bass (in drop C tuning) sounds mean as hell with nothing in the effects chain
9. Yeah, kinda wish I'd waited for a 750 instead of a 450 but it's no biggy right now. Just kind miss some of the highs off my ACG. The precision sounds immense.
10.
There is a high-pass filter acting below 100Hz on these amps and the response is 6dB down at 40Hz. Whether you can hear it and whether it bothers you is obviously another matter. However, it's good to be aware that it's there, as no other bass amp manufacturer does this as far as I'm aware.
But how much 40Hz can you actually hear? Granted that's the gut rumbly area but this is very similar to what the thumpinator does which get's nothing but praise. It's obviously not a huge roll off down there either if it's only -6db by the time it reaches 40Hz aswell. All aside, I think mine sounds great and I trust my ears
11. Excellent bassist and have started playing their basslines just a few days ago much fun.
12.
OK, but only if it's a punk song.
It might fit well in a Comedy Prog-Punk ballad I'm writing called "I can do it without waking you"
13.
And instead of a goodnight kiss, she kicked me in the balls.
May steal this for a song!
14. I'll try to make it but put me down as a tentative for now
15. Isn't that someones on here?
16. Or learn another instrument Sorry didn't read the post above
17. Bongos seem to be getting popular!
18. Love.. and... feeling... nope sorry, does not compute. I play metal I think I'll check this out laters though
19. Get someone to hang on to your gear so you can see if you miss it... Infact... Lend your gear to me. I'll give it back as soon as you want it or decide you want to sell it
20. Personally I've opted for the band I'm forming to be as local as possible as with this particular band I really want to be able to up the "social" aspect as well as being able to pop over each others for if you have an idea I've been lucky this week, found a drummer who seems psyched as he's been out of playing for a while and the next day he found a guitarist
21. I get that too, around A in my flat
22. Wait! Just realised... is this really an ahem... "excuse" for buying another bass? If so... go for it, you don't want to scratch your baby!
