1.
You're on. I'd settle for a shot of Nessie though
You've lost me
2.
Is there a prize?
You get a High Five if ever we meet I only like it in Red I've decided but it does look very nice
3. Absent-mindedly watching back to the future (again) last night and realised I don't know what this rather funky bass is I give it all of two posts until someone knows
4. Have you considered a secondhand TC RH750? They're almost in budget new
5. I think this is the same bass: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/178407-dingwall-combustion-5-price-drop-l750/page__p__1701602__hl__combustion__fromsearch__1#entry1701602
6.
Hi, I'm just curious about what this is like to play. http://www.gumtree.c...-bass/106445148 Anyone into against the fan fret system? Any playing experiences?
I tried a combustion in the bass gallery. Very playable indeed, however the sound wasn't for me in this particular case. The Dingwall Super J5 sounded much MUCH better to me (but then it does cost a fair bit more )
7. Not interval is the notes position within the scale that is being played :-)
8.
Afternoon all, I'm want to buy something from a guy in East Kilbride via Gumtree, but I'm having problems sorting out the logistics of the deal. He doesn't have a paypal account (and doesn't want one or anything similar), and he doesn't want to give me his bank details either for bank transfer (fair enough). Without travelling the 300 miles myself to go and collect it and paying cash, does anyone have any other suggestions? Normally i'd just sack it off and look elsewhere, but I really really want what he has. Cheers Keith
Maybe a basschatter closer can act as a representative? IE. You transfer them cash ( + a little beer money) and they send you the bass after collecting it off of him?
9. Nifty, I want to see the babies that this crossed with the blacksmith would make!
10.
lol I'm still lost why they do this strange Roman numeral system......hmmm may need to shelve that one until later
That's probably to stop people getting confused between chords and chord intervals (chords can have numbers in them: C7 for example)

Bongo

Why can't they do the 6er in Orange
12. Can you get a picture of yourself playing? Someone here should be able to offer advice if it's to do with your stance then
13. Also worth checking if there's a decibel limit at the venue.
14. Sounds like a tough day mate
15. Oh that That's so you can identify intervals. Particular intervals always have a similar effect (how they leave you feeling) It's particular noticeable at the end of songs (usually finish with a V(5th) - I(root)) interval as it leaves you with a feeling of completeness where as a IV - I generally leaves you hanging on the edge of the seat waiting for the next note. It can be really bloody uncomfortable! Edit just to add.... I think this is what it's about anyway
16.
Would it be any good for a Bassbash?
That would depend on how many people are going I would have thought, you would be surprised how much space/plug sockets even 10 bassists can take up.
17. You should try rickresource Note: Unless you just want to laugh at their outraged responses I actually wouldn't... but if you do, please link it so we can watch!
18. I think it may be the chord within the key? If you can type out an example I'm sure one of us could help clear it up
19.
I'm struggling as to why I now have to understand the chord descriptions by numbers though, I'm a little lost on that one. But I will work it out in my head I'm in no rush to learn everything. I have become very inspired but peoples kind words of encouragement & common sense.
What do you mean "by numbers"?
20. Get in with other bands that are already on the rosters?
21. It's bloody hard to look at the neck if you're sightreading (which is how I generally learn tracks) so by the time I've got it right I can normally play without looking at the neck... If nerves get the better of me I do though
