Hunted By Angels - Quite like your stuff, look forward to hearing the tracks with a singer. Would quite like to hear a track with a bit of "groove" going on at somepoint as I caught hint that it was there in the Liquid Black Demo 'Liked' on to the next band ______________________________________________________________________________ Jethou - This is the kind of stuff I wouldn't mind listening to in the car but it's too distracting for while working 'liked' ______________________________________________________________________________ Twisted Machines - Great music, I really like it! However I think the mixes are letting you down a little bit, if these are multi-track recordings I'm more than happy to have a look over a song for you and see what I can do with it Wrong Routine is my favourite 'liked' ______________________________________________________________________________ Chloe and the high tides - Great recordings, awesome quality mixing too Not my style of music at all but I can definitely appreciate the quality 'liked' ______________________________________________________________________________ Dick Venom and the Terrortones - Definitely original a tad too distracting to work with in headphones but I like the music a lot (probably for the same reason I can't listen to weird al at work, the vocals are far too interesting to allow me to concentrate) 'liked' ______________________________________________________________________________ Sad Lovers & Giants - Like a cool balm for my ears after Dick Venom tore them off my head very cool and chilled out 'liked' ______________________________________________________________________________ That's me done for the day
Ok. If we put to one side any creative or style considerations, then a major factor in the design should be quality of components to avoid increasing noise (effects units, patch cables, power supply, board etc).. I don't know what your budget is, but I'm guessing that this set up could cost anything upwards of 3-4 grand.. nice if you've got it! A blow if you haven't, It's just an idea at present, not worrying about budget and the like I also assume you have a decent pre-amp to put the effects chain into? If it's decent, it will have built in Noise Reduction, and at least a 12-band EQ. Just a TC RH450, love the sound of it, never had a problem with noise and it's a 4 band parametric Then, if the front end of your bass has an Active circuit, it will almost certainly have a three-band parametric. EQ. Nope, ACG EQ02 (filter based pre-amp) Have you thought about, or tried, putting your Compressor or Limiter units at the end of a chain? Can work well - thanks Shep! It generally depends what I'm trying to accomplish, for an "all out" sound for my metal band though the notes need to be even (mostly down to me I know but it can be very "widdley" at times) which will drive each effect accordingly. Put the compressor at the end only controls it post effects which wouldn't really help with this. I've got the spectra-comp in the TC aswell though.

http://www.warwick.d...35&linkID=26523 I think I now officially very like a Warwick!! Used to have a Thumb NT 5 years back and it was really really nice but a bit clinical for me at the time, might be tempted by one of these Katana though! The Gallery have a used one in at around £1k it's blue though and I liked the natural one http://www.thebassgallery.com/product_details.cfm?ID=1944&type=Bass%20Guitar
That's the one I played :-D

Got some tedious work tomorrow, will listen through this thread and like accordingly. Will also link my band (may be in my Sig, can't see when on my phone) Cerberus Cell Reverbnation

My singer had this when singing clean, I just told him it sounded like he was struggling and he went for a couple of lessons. No worries
-
I like it. TBH I'd prefer it in the Monroe configuration rather than Princess Isabella, but if I had the kind cash spare that he's asking for it I would be seriously considering buying one. In fact right now I'm liking the Ritter guitar designs far more than his basses.
Agreed, but they don't have to worry about neck dive and the like so much.
-
Yeah, but from what I can see the chord wont hold the necks
What the hell have I just listened to? Sums up the olympics though, bloated, slightly menacing, confused, wothless and tragic, with no connection to anything except itself.
So in summary it's a success?

I've found this : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stagg-GDC-6-Coffre-Rack/dp/B000NZOCQK/ref=pd_sim_sbs_MI_7 which might fit the bill nicely
Optimism alone will not ensure that the insurer is going to pay you in the event of some disaster. I'd very carefully take another look at the terms and conditions if i were you.
VERY carefully have looked over them
Man, I am getting properly jiggly here over this, the work just looks so cleanly done, and, well, good....
Jiggly like his walls?
-
Have you ever made a claim?
Nope, never needed too. But just replacing my ACG would be over 12 years payments.
-
Any recommendations for a rack to take basses (and guitars)? I would prefer something with as small a footprint as possible but to still be sturdy and preferably hold onto the necks of the basses so the can't just fall out (so it locks them in as it were).
I think I'm better off putting £100 in a pot each year unless things change.
Approx 12k worth of gear (new values) costs me less than £100 a year currently. So unless you're not gigging then maybe not?

Played one down the bass gallery. Lovely bass, well suited toward metal particularly. Would cut through the mix well and was very comfortable to play. Sounded amazing through a GK rig and had a great "growl" to it. The look isn't for everyone but I've always liked it. it's fairly versatile with an incredible amount of lowend to it if you feel like dialling it all the way in.

Actually quite like that Fair play for getting a bit of "fighting spirit" into it, a bit of a tip of the hat towards queen in there and reminiscent of their older stuff. If the next album is like this I'll be buying their stuff again (@ blackholes it went to crap for me)
-
I think there's a "basic" version of the site which may work better..
-
Should be doing some recording tomorrow. I'm sure I can spare a few minutes (while protools boots up.... ok quite a few minutes) to have another listen
-
I was wondering who else would make it visitors to the factory? No experience of the amps myself but I wouldn't expect great wonders tbh. What are you looking for (soundwise) and what's your budget?
-
Do you want me to have a listen on my monitors if/when I get a chance? They're horribly revealing
-
Sounds awesome, really nicely done. The only changes I would consider making (it would be trial and error) is the "location" of the instruments. I found it a little bit uncomfortable to listen to on headphones because of that. Also the singer is lacking a little bit of clarity in the pronunciation for me. Really is sounding good though
