1. They are built like tanks on the otherhand. In a fight against a hammer I would honestly bet on the pedal
  2. It depends what you want... both are awesome build quality but a standard ACG will sound rather different to a Shuker. It also depends on build times and prices. I daresay Alan will almost certainly win on comms though!
  3.
You can interpret 'funky' in many ways However, the OP was talking about Little Feat & SRV but we've had people putting forward Offspring & the Artic Monkeys!
There's even funky basslines in metal! Check out Peace Sells by Megadeth!

You don't mean Kubicki do you?
  5.
What's a WAL? Can you not afford a Fender mate?
I actually got asked if I couldn't afford a fender when someone saw my ACG... So I opened my other gig bag and said it's my backup
  6.
I think you got a green one going to the wrong spot.
7.
As in "What? Of course I was fan-frigging-tastic on stage, how dare you even assume I could ever be otherwise?" Doesn't sound like something a bass player would usually say, but does sound like some singers and some lead guitarists!
Nope as in "I would say thanks... but I'm not in agreement"
  8.
Again, I respect your opinion. However, I still cant get my head around someone who cant simply SAY thanks.
Because some people can't say what they don't mean
  9.
No pressure: (photo taken from Fly Guitars website - http://www.flyguitar...st_techinfo.php)
Almost there...
  10. Probably just thought you were a little bit grumpy but you told him the reason why so that's ok
  11. Sorry I'm only looking to trade, thanks though

    Acoustic's
IMO, the best acoustics for the money are Ibanez. My bands vocalist has an Ibanez EW20WNE and it's phenomenal for what he paid (£280-300 If i remember correctly). It's the acoustic we used on the track below for an idea of sound. Recorded with a Peavey dynamic mic on the soundhole and direct from the internal preamp. If you feel like really splashing out, i would go for a Taylor. One came up used in a cash generator near me for £200 and it had gone by the time i got paid, i was gutted. Liam
I've never seen a sieve used as a pop shield before
  13. FWIW, I always preferred the sterling neck (and sound) which is strange as I don't like Jazz necks (precisions and warwicks are top for me)
  14.
But that wouldnt be a Musicman Stingray.
Agreed, just making sure that you knew in a similar price range they're available
  15.
Single ply batter heads, no resonant heads on the toms (even the floor tom) or kick. Use some tape and cotton pads to control tom ring (esp floor tom). Tape up the lugs where the bottom head screwed in to stop rattles. Take a tea towel (or two if hes a nutter) and put them inside the snare (literally take off the snares & resonant head, tape a tea towel in there so an inch is pressed into the batter head, and a couple of inches are going to rest against the resonant head when it is replaced), really you can get a super tidy snare sound, but you have to be very careful with placement of the towel, its time consuming, sticking it in place will kill a lot of volume etc. If this goes wrong halfway through the gig the drummer will impale you on a stick as the entire towel falls onto the resonant head and his £500 snare goes from a nice but quieter whack! to a pathetic whup... Use a towel with about 2" to 4" of overhang onto the kick batter head, then mic up the kick (it will be so much quietr that you will be able to do this. Tune the kit to its absolute lowest resonant frequency, it will sound bigger,m but project far less when attempting to get as low as possible for each drum, Bob Gatzenburg does a good series on this on youtube. Do it right and the kit will sound fine, but you get to watch your drummer having a hernia trying to achieve the usual face melting volume from the kit. He will hate it, until you mic it up to get it loud enough. On its own he will struggle to make a dent in a loud conversation at a bar...
Sounds like fun
  16. I keep saying I need to try a Matamp. Probably a good idea not too though
  17. I wonder if they'll put this up as a add-on for the bus simulator
  18. Not tried a jackhammer, used to have a Guvnor which was ok...
  19. Not a bad put together ad but it needs to go to the For Sale section PM a mod and I'm sure they'll move it for you .. Just spotted it in the For Sale section, my bad
  20. There's a few Offspring tracks that might well fit the bill (eg. pretty fly for a white guy)
  21.
and Tenacious D are awesome live! if you dnt like them thats different but i bet there was a whole crowd singing along no?
Saw them at the Brixton Academy a few days before Download, one of the best bands I've ever seen live
  22. I'll get some pics up a bit later/tomorrow, Just spit-balling for a trade really it's not really pushing my buttons aggression-wise so I'd like to swap for a good Distortion (not overdrive) with EQ of a similar value/ trade up (with funds passing hands obv.) General condition is how I got it as it's never been taken to gigs and it's built to withstand nuclear warfare* Rik *may not withstand nuclear warfare
  23.
Saw Unexpect live and instanty loved it. Nuclear Rabbit was played at a gig I was at before the show though the PA and I asked the sound guy what it was!
I saw Unexpect at a Dream Theater gig and thought it was appalling although a lot of that could have easily been put down to sound...
