1. I do like me a white bass, have a bump back up to the top
2. Welcome As above really, good luck with your sale!
3. What's with the strings on it? Do they look odd to anyone else?
4. I play in Drop C (CGCF). I phoned up newtone, told them the scale of my bass and my usual gauge for standard tuning and they made me a set of strings in my usual gauge but for drop C. You could try the same
5. How loud are you wanting to practice at home? Ideally you want an amp that's roughly that loud at around 1/2-3/4 I would have thought?
6. Starting to come together
7. So you've got a bass that only sounds good with the P pickup so the next one you're going to buy is only going to have a P pickup? That's confusing
8.
Should have used a real amp mate
I can't see those sounds being particularly easy to get out of an orange terror bass and a marshall though

10.
Audacity is working for me at the mo. Nice and simple once I sorted out the latency issues.
Glad it's working out It's nifty for plug and play (like you say once your through the latency stuff). How long till you get the bug though? It's addictive, I'm warning you now!
11. Sounds like a pretty cool spec! I know you like your musicman basses (when they pass the MM20 QC Check). Have you considered bringing over any of the features of the MM's? For example you want a light bass, aren't most musicman basses chambered in some way? I really need to check out more of Jons work. I am actually stuck between Shuker and ACG for my next build. Good job I can't afford it for ages so I can try lots of stuff out
12. Only listened to the first two so far but very cool stuff. Preferring the second track to the first one

A great loss, RIP OG
14.
No worries man, didn't think you were arguing Maybe I spoke to someone different, or they just sent you a slightly thicker string. They couldn't give me figures for tensions but they probably have a fair idea of the sort of tension between one string and another...
Nope same thickness string, it's just higher tension I know there's one guy there who specialises in the bass strings
15. Have just cranked my speakers, sounds a fair bit better now Still knowing it sounds great in the mix is the most important thing
16. I just had a moment (I'm recording in my studio for my band) where I was listening to the bass in isolation and thought... Why the hell am I using this sound again?! It sounded dirty, gritty and full of bass... Then I turned on the other tracks... Instant smile on face moment.... That's why! God I love the tubetone on the RH450! But DI'd and in isolation when you're listening back it makes you wonder until the other tracks are going too
17. But this leads to the question... what type of arrowhead is best for metal?
18. I've started to do a little project on the side, more atmospheric than my "normal" stuff. Where I'm primarily playing keyboard. What makes this particularly adventurous is that at the end of each day I work on a song it uploads to soundcloud almost automatically. So anyone watching will get to see the songs develop. 19. They're good down at soundslive Always my second port of call after DV
20.
Haha, I could double up as a coatstand, which should give me plenty of protection I'm wondering if one of the medical/sporting bands might suffice. I saw my doctor about my hand about three months ago, as my picking hand is the one which suffered the nerve damage (well, the entire arm did, to be fair) in 2003, and it has the world's worst circulation. Thinking out loud. Have no idea. Do have a hole in my right forearm, though.
I genuinely play with two wristbands on occasion, not on top of each other of course!
21. I think it would be quite cool if it have some kind of burst finish too. But you should call it something else... like glow! But spell it wrong...
22.
Chaps, I'm sure a lot of you know the pain - that realisation that your rock and roll antics have just carved a whole in your forearm or wrist from contact with the guitar body. I'm getting it a lot at the moment, as I've gone pretty much all pick with the band - and, with my basses sitting where they sit, I'm carving myself. I had been wearing simple sports bands, covering the wrist, but I'm needing something more substantial, covering more of the forearm. And no, not gloves. I play rock. I'd get all kinds of sh*t. Anyone know what I'm blathering about? Anyone have any tips? Are these musicians things, or am I back to trawling the sports shops again?
Two wristbands?
23.
This, I like. Wonder if they'll put up with the smoking, bad language, farting and general off colour banter, hurling of insults etc. that goes on at our practise sessions, though?
And they're not allowed to bring their girlfriends... remember that!
24.
Thanks, but they've already agreed the deal. We've already suggested that the bands P.A. could have been used as it would have been set up, anyway.
Well tell them to have fun with the PA with no band.
