1.
Unfortunately, I imagine it will also be one of the most expensive too... Eude
Yeah the Vampyres have always attracted a premium haven't they? I'll put it on my Euromillions list
 2.
Oh my, they're doing a 6 string Vampyre now too! http://www.warwick.d...re&page=1&cl=EN One thing that always bugged me about some of the Warwick range was that would only do 4 and 5 string versions of their more exotic looking beasts. Looks like they're caught on Eude
That is one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL basses I have ever seen!
 3.
Been thinking about it all weekend. Might have to look into someway I can order that bad boy pronto.
I know a guy that knows a guy that might know of a guy that knows of a cousin that might know of an ex-sisters-boyfriend who might be able to sort it out for you.... for the right price
 4.
Absolutely agree...!! And setup is most likely doing nothing to help as well. This bass came so badly set up that I had to shift some of the saddles by about 10mm just to get the intonation in...In all likelyhood the string heights are way out and it should really go for a proper set up. I know from 20 something years of guitar playing that muddy horrible mush from the lower end of the instrument is usually from pants pick ups... So I guess my question is now...do I spend £60 on a decent set of Seymore Dunkan pups and sent the old girl for a set up...or do I cut my losses and go for a higher quality new bass... I saw a really nice looking bass today for £400...looked like a Warwick rip off...was nice tho...have to decide which option I'll go for... CraigyJ...
You can get a real warwick for that second hand...
 5.
a simple remedy and a happy outcome for all, basschat saves the day.....again
That would have stumped you for a while :-P
 6.
If you want a real drum sound rather than an analogy drums sound you would be better of using something like BFD or Steven Slate SSD 4. http://stevenslatedrums.com
Were using ssd and the drums are really sounding great. Really looking forward to having all the programming done!
 7.
Seriously tempted by one of these anyway, what are they like in real life? I only played the one in the OP and a EURO 5 string. The euro was fantastic, but costs three times more... Also, how would it compare to a warwick corvette of similar price?
I wouldn't expect it to get close, if it did I would be shocked. Warwick corvettes are amoung my favourite basses!
 8. If you were closer I would have lent you mine for the rehearsal mate. Have a good one!
 9. Oooh good man Enjoy it stag, we had a death metal stag do at the hmv forum (im still bruised )
 10. No way! A stag on a Sunday? I just got back from one.
 11.
Nice one charic! The description says that tulip poplar is light in colour though. The burls must really mess up the natural pigment. I wasn't too far away saying that it looks similar to poplar!
I think the direction of the cut might have something to do with it aswell but if you think about it. The lighter the wood then the more the burl should stick out
 12. Incase you're wondering how I found out: Search google (with quotes quotes where they are): "Canoe Wood" Alternative Names
 13. Here's quite a nice example actually
 14. Commonly known as tulip poplar http://www.sierrapotomac.org/W_Needham/TulipPoplar_070514.htm
 15. I'll try to remember to check tonight. I've got my Yammy RBX6JM in a hardcase but don't know what kind currently. I can see if the hiscox will fit (I doubt it)
 16. Can you give any more of a description of the sound it's making? Is it a buzz? Have you checked at the nut? Although I'm wondering if something in the wiring has come loose, unless maybe these are a lot brighter? Maybe try backing off the volume (on the bass) or the gain?
 17. Looking forward to giving that Mesa a try if you don't mind paulwilson! I'll add you both to the list
 18.
I used a Boss MC-2 Metal Zone once which really narked off my guitar player! Even though my ProCo RAT is a bit tame in comparison to the MC-2 its body count is pretty impressive as far as claiming the lives of a few of my speakers...mainly tweeter horn diagphrams. Remember to turn the tweeters down or completely off at high volumes when using a high gain fuzz/distortion pedal. It can get pretty expensive if you are not sensible.
I like tweeters though
 19.
I still reckon the MXR blowtorch is what would do it for you. Or have you considered running two rigs and running fx through one?
Considered it but funds and space would be a bit silly
 20.
Last time I was at a Nightwish gig the bass was lost in the mix. Great tone on its own but its easily swamped.
I suspected as much. I may end up staying clean... Hmmm....
 21.
it's definitely a "I've always wanted to try..." sort of establishment
Like Amsterdam then
