1.
Tru, dat. I'm exhausted, me - I've just spent the entire night neurotically flapping around a giant light bulb. Oof.
That's the moon...
  2. I have no idea what it is yet but...
  3.
I like to get smashed and then try and pull the bride.
You fool! Go for the bridesmaid instead
  4. They do seem pretty cool (if you have the money spare).
  5. Thanks Biggsy, I just had a thought. Would anyone fancy doing a bbq to accompany the bash (obviously if its ok with you Biggsy)
  6.
Mics: For ultimate quality go for condenser technology (though you may struggle a bit at that price level), but plenty of very good dynamic mics around at that sort of price
It's worth noting a couple of very important negatives about condenser microphones (general): - They're much more fragile - They're much more sensitive The second might sound like a plus but unless it was designed specifically for live use then you will almost certainly struggle with feedback control. It will also pick up the drums and god only knows what else. I was recording an upright piano in a large classroom at college once and picked up the sound of a ticking clock very prominently in the mix. It turned out to be a clock in an adjoining room on the opposite wall!
  7. Lockable covers over the master volumes* and volume level of amps agreed before hands These may well make an excellent gift for ones guitarist!
  8. Provisionally booked for 24th June at Sham Studios in Somersham. Owned by our very own Biggsy who should be along later with a raft of details for you all! I've used these rooms in the past with my band and they should work great for what we need

  10.
First of all sir, allow me to apologise for ruining your day! etc..
I have to admit that I've not (knowingly) at least checked out your playing. However hats off for coming on and saying your piece, I think frustration of the day may not of helped in the earlier posts
  11.
I heard that too but he will still do repairs and i believe will make a special but would cost. At the end of the day he was a UK manufacturer / luthier so should be on the list. He made some stunning basses too. Also ACG Point about luthiers not being on the list is an odd one as companies like WAL, Shergold etc started of as luthiers so where do you draw the line. Dave
ACG already on there

Grrr why can't my guitarist have more money
  13.
Good point, I'll make it clearer.
14.
what do you look for in an (onboard) preamp?
It should sound good
  15. Never been a fan of the appearance of these but they are certainly quirky Good luck with the sale, I had fun digging through the description to try and find a price
  16. What type of music is it? My stock setting was "rock", low mid boost, gain to suit and line at full. If you want to save it then press and hold the channel button and it will save it to a channel IIRC. If you don't want any effects then make sure that they are turned full anti-clockwise other something may be engaged.
  17. A preset light is always on. Each preset emulates a different amp in EQ curves etc. You can then save your EQ settings for each amp. I usually had channel level max'd (except on grind which was a fair bit hotter)
  18.
Erm, for that much money I could have an extra pair of ears grafted onto my head.
They wouldn't actually do anything though and you'd look a little bit silly
  19. I'll give a certain BC'er a ring tonight after gym and hopefully be able to confirm a date
  20.
Tempting as it may be to go with the big names, Beyer, Sennheiser, AKG etc, there is a company knocking around that specialises in headphones* named Grado. Not a household name, but the sound quality is staggering for the money. They range from £90 to £1700 ( ). The SR60i are £90, personally I'd go for the SR80i at £110 or the SR125i at around £150. *They also make audiophile standard pickup cartridges for turntables.
I always gathered that Grado were the "hifi" equivalent in headphones. Lovely sounding but not really great for mixing (PS. Grado is a "big name") What you really need is these http://www.firebox.com/product/2938/Ultrasone-Zebrano-Edition-10-Headphones
