1. Just some first glance thoughts (and I am definitely not a pro!) I would try raising the warwick higher still (it actually looks uncomfortable) Also looking at the 5 string it looks like the wider neck was maybe FORCING correct technique. Your thumb is the the middle of the neck and your hand looks relaxed. With the warwick your thumb has drifted over the top and your hand looks much more tense. Feel free to ignore, shout or swear at me. All imo and i admit to there being a high likelyhood of me being wrong.
2. Another thing, if you can make it to a digital village then they usually have a room for you to trial microphones and compare them They were VERY helpful for the singer and I. They didn't have either of the Shures we wanted to trial in stock so they rang the rep and got them dropped off just for us
3. *Subscribed!!! Would you mind PM'ing me what sort of price this is coming in at? I've got a few ideas knocking around
4.
To put it really bluntly, I'd much rather have the long term benefits of someone feeling guilty about the situation than the short term benefit.
So what you're saying is you'd rather have a "fuddy" than a one night stand?
5.
Ahhh superb. I've e-chatted with Myles before about valves. He's been a great help and incredibly knowledgeable. This makes for very interesting reading.
Did you ever try those other valves in the kilo?
6. That guy is very lucky those monitors aren't wiping his computer HDD!
7.
Oh, he has those too...believe me!
No
8.
Here's a man who can afford to have wooden floors, radiators and sockets on the outside of his house. Don't argue with him.
9.
Sadly I won't be doing the EABB, I went to the London one though.
That's a shame. Feel free to send your basses then
10. What a lovely wall o bass. Feel free to bring (the basses not the wall) to the EABB!
11.
Yeah, but to be fair they're both £60+ more expensive! (Don't get me wrong, I know the Rode sounds a lot better, but you what you pay for)
The only thing I've ever found a C1000 good for is Hi-Hat though
12.
You might want to have a look at an AKG C1000s
Evil microphones!! For a condenser on a budget : http://www.dv247.com/microphones/rode-nt1-a-complete-vocal-recording-solution--68605 Recently found these microphones sounding much better than a 58 with my singer for "talking, whispering, shouting, singing and screaming" http://www.dv247.com/microphones/shure-55sh-2-dynamic-vocal-microphone-vintage-style--22321 or for slightly more (the one we picked, had a bit more low end definition and high end clarity) http://www.dv247.com/microphones/shure-super-55-deluxe-vocal-microphone--65718
13.
Clearly, it's a situation where you allow any potential wrongdoer not providing a service that you have paid for sufficient rope to hoist they're own petard. More succinctly, to subvert an old saying, publish or be damned. Will wait, with interest, to see the outcome.
Edited for accuracy
14. Green, white, blue, black In that order
15. If it doesn't have to be UK based politics you've got pretty much the whole origin of blues thing iirc
16. That o bass reminds me of an rks I saw. Incidentally a rks guitar my mate played in a shop was awesome.
17.
The J-Lo is neither huge, epic, nor brutal!
I agree, I have one and although it sounds alright its definitely not what I'm after
18. I don't know about the wood I'm afraid. However having a new neck made and tailored to you (possibly shorter scale) is worth looking into if you really like the sound. Regarding the dive what type of strap are you currently using?
19. Is it worth saving for a bit and seeing about either getting the neck reshaped by a luthier or getting a neck similar to your ibby made for your $$?
20. Just a thought, why not add an additional strap button instead of moving it?
21. On the guitar front I quite like this too:
22. Don't know what this is yet but it's still pretty awesome Also looks like it might be headless from the bridge
23. Very strange, it's like it's "settling" into the note. Are you perhaps picking a little too hard?
