1. New "possible" bands added to the list. Anyone else game? Also who's up for attending and with what gear?
2. Nothing useful to add but I just wanted to point out that this thread is now probably being investigated
3.
Hey Charic ..... Going through BC 2x12 and BC 2x10..
That may have something to do with it, through 2 x rs210 my RH450 managed to keep pace with a PA drums, Vocals, 200w orange guitar amp cranked. It's a loud beast but my only experience with the BC cabs was with a bassist tuned to drop G so I can't post a realistic opinion. I would try it with different cabs before giving up. Is it the RH450 or the RH750?
4.
One of my bands may be interested in this - and we`ve got two bassists!
Love it! PM'd!
5. This is me playing a keyboard older than me!!! http://soundcloud.co...er-pk150-improv Nowhere near my best playing but I've always enjoyed listening to this back for some reason. Please bear in mind it is ENTIRELY improvised Hmm... It's gone to a strange format... hold on.. Ha! That did it
6.
I'm interested! I'm really really struggling too! And have a pa and huge set list It's doing my head in trying to get bookings!
PM'd mate , I've got to decipher my old notes of venues now. I suppose now would be a good time to digitise it!
7. It depends on what you're doing mate, if you're equipped to do pub gigs (with a long enough set to boot) then I can give you a HUUUUUGE list of venues and contact details. Also I'm currently looking for bands for the EA Bass Bash, charity event and whatnot but I'm trying to use as many BC bands as possible. Let me know if you're interested
8.
If you change your mind and decide to sell I'd be interested. Great amp. I assume you know Bass Direct has the RH750 on a spoff right now?
Yeah but unfortunately even after selling the RH450 it would still be a bit rich for me unfortunately I wonder what I could get on a trade in though... hmmm....
9. Hey BC'ers, I'm thinking of trading up my RH450 amp. I absolutely LOVE this amp so I literally just want to move to the model with the tweetertone as I'm sometimes missing some of those extra high frequencies I can get out of my ACG. I REALLY don't need the extra watts to be honest! As per the title really. RH450 + Cash Adjustment for your RH750 And yes... I'm aware it's a looooooong shot
10.
Yes I know they're very good amps (I've got one), but they all apparently use an internal power/peak compression 'safety' system - which in effect can in reality nearly halve the RMS output from the amp.......I wish I'd read the smallprint...... Although it can sound 'loud', I did wonder why the basic amp sounded compressed (even without using the on-board compressor) .... Just think, the sound is compressed internally, u can compress it on the amp and you may even have a nice rack compressor to compress it again.........does that turn the sound inside out? Now looking for new amp....
What cabs are you going through?
11. Look forward to hearing it. I enjoyed the tunes on your soundcloud :-)
12. If you put a 1/4 and a BAII on there it will sound very VERY close to my MIM I would expect, with a pick it's very clear and defined. Not so good for mellow stuff. If you're anywhere near me then you're welcome to come give my MIM a go
13. Kick and two high quality overheads does make for a great recorded kit in a dry room
14.
I've got a tc bh500 amp with built in compressor but it cuts far too much frequency even at a very low operation. Who does the best compressor where u can control all parameters pl guys? Ta J
Compressors don't cut frequencies, are you sure it's not just a characteristic of the amp? (The RH450 has a low pass filter) As for the best compressor... This would probably do quite a good job http://www.dv247.com/studio-equipment/tube-tech-smc-2bm-multiband-mastering-opto-compressor--65892 Only half joking tbh, I've recently started to wonder, why don't people use studio compressors instead of pedal based ones? Rackmount and away!
15. Knew that would convince you
16. A compressor would probably help. Also worth checking your EQ
17.
Where did you read this? I'm always gear stalking my idols Also, I'll agree with other who have said guitar distortions sound great on bass! Try to find a Marshall Jackhammer somewhere if you can, I got mine given to me by a mate as it's not so good on guitar... but it's the best dirt pedal i own! I didn't notice any low end loss, and there's even an EQ/contour section on the pedal for unlimited options
Wikipedia :-D
18.
Any reason you're going for the B9? Not tried one but I thought it had nearly the same effects as the B2, which doesn't do heavy distortion very well. The B3 on the other hand has a GREAT Bass Big Muff simulation and all kinds of clean blend trickery to keep things punchy.
Purely for the number of options. Plus I expect the tube pre will help with drive. I'd like to try one but eq, drive and ambient effects all mean I should able to do a lot with the pedal and not make much of a loss if I decide to move it on. Also apparently all effects have a clean blend. Like I say need to wait n see if i can test but to me the 9 looks much better fit than the 3.
19. Why not practice with her facing the speakers and you lot?
20. This may sound very VERY silly but has she tried singing louder?
21.
Phew, i just had my lunch so my guts are sorted, but my brain is now on full gorge mode, maybe it needs compressing too.. No thanks, again v useful, lm almost sold but keep em coming ..
You Without compressor > < You With Compressor
22. That was just to hide the drugs
23. What does it weigh without the mesh cover?
24. I'm actually fairly sure he'd enjoy that
